We just got an SVR in....pics and observations
Gonna be brief, it's been a long day but wanted to share. Our dealer just received our first SVR 'vert. I did the PDI on it and got to spend some time with it.
- The titanium piping in the exhaust starts about the middle of the car. Looks like standard 5 liter catalysts and that piping is SS. The mufflers themselves are Ti too. I did not see any exhaust actuators. There is still a exhaust button but I think it's just Jag being lazy.
- Power-wise, it's certainly snappy. However, it's not dramatic. My "R" (Velocity AP tune/pulley) would take it's lunch money. Not as if that should come as a surprise.
- Exhaust note.... ehhh....I don't know. It's certainly growls more at idle but keep in mind that our actuators close at idle. At speed, the SVR is a bit more muted. The R pops and bangs like an attention *****, especially in Sport. The SVR popped but it wasn't as dramatic. This one had only 37 miles on the clock, so it's certainly possible that the fueling/timing tables are setup for a predetermined break in period.
- Just for fun, checked on how much the mufflers run... $4,500 at my cost, per side, lol!
- Suspension feels a lot stiffer. Even with mine in dynamic mode, it's not that rough. I dunno... as much as Jag would like to call this a "race car", That's not how 90% will use it. They'll just drive it. For that purpose, I would stick with an S or R.
- Same old touchscreen, no In-touch Pro which was a bit of a disappointment given the price tag. Hell, a 40K XE gets the wide screen treatment.
- I'm not sure how much Alcantara the suede pack adds to an F-Type interior but the SVR is slathered in it... everywhere. Really brings the interior up to speed. The diamond quilted seats and door cards.... Well done. My only complaint... no flat bottom wheel?
- Love the new fenders. This will probably be a retrofit for mine.
- I didn't really pay attention to the literature (I fuss with Jags every day) but I was a bit surprised the front lip spoiler was just ABS plastic. I thought for sure this would be carbon fiber. Probably an option.
- Tires are 305 in width and definitely louder than my Pirellis. Maybe a different compound?

You could say the same for all of the V8 models, but it's the potential you are buying (better and prolonged braking, reduced unsprung weight and better handling).I would have bought the CCs for my V6 had they been available with the MT.

Understood. My car is black so the yellow calipers is ok. Not a fan of the wheels myself but I can change those. However the SVR is touted as the top of the line and a track capable car so I am just surprised they are not standard.

The thing I'm more worried about than CC brakes are the active spoiler and exterior carbon package. I ordered neither and now I'm worried that I really screwed up.
The exterior carbon stuff can almost certainly be installed later, just have to order the right parts. But converting the vehicle from deployable spoiler to active spoiler seems difficult and costly, maybe even impossible.

My dealer says the carbon fiber exterior package is a dealer installed option once the car arrives from port, which means you may be able to add it on.

I'll snap some more pics tomorrow. We've got a fully loaded blue coupe on order (CC brakes, CF, ETC). I'd be surprised if the carbon bits are not already installed. However, the CF add-ons I've seen from Jag are just OEM parts wrapped by a third party (In Japan, no less). Disappointing, given the price tag. The CF side vents on the F-Type, for example, still have "chrome" stamped on the back. Since they just snap in, the fitment could be better. Sometimes I just shake my head with the stuff I see from JLR.
On a side note, we thought someone stole the SVR's engine cover as it was missing when I popped the hood. All eyes on me, the mechanic, with an F-Type, lol. We made a few phone calls tho' and as it turned out, the SVR doesn't ship with one. Apparently Jag doesn't want it contributing to heat soak. Interesting....

BTW: The inner fender liner has a vent in the rear that the R lacks. It channels the air out the fender vent. I'm trying to see if that part comes with the SVR fenders as the parts breakdown only shows one liner.
