LOL . . . we didn't get the V8 guys to step up until we taunted them, and I dredged up a 2 month-old thread. We asked nicely first, but that didn't work. ;-)
Just put mine on a certified weight today. It's a 2015 R RWD coupe with more or less all options including glass roof but without ceramic brakes.
With me inside: 4100 lb (1860 kg).
Minus gas: 73 lb (filled up 25 litre right after = 45 litre in tank * 0.74kg/l).
Minus me: 179 lb
Result wet weight - gas - me = 3848 lb (1749 kg)
(I also had a few lb of junk in the trunk and glovebox, but has not calculated in that - perhaps some 8-10 lb of weight)
I also weighted both axels separatly (with me inside). Result was:
Front axel: 2.160 lb (980 kg)
Rear axel: 1.940 lb (880 kg)

It took me that long just to find a place to weigh in. Closest one to me was near Hershey 50 minutes away! You would think the trucking through-way of North America, south central PA, would have one closer..........it's nuts.

In the interest of full disclosure and other thoughts;
- I was trying to rationalize how my car could be 2 lbs lighter than a RWD Coupe with pretty much the same options as well as why MBourne's identical 2014 V8S could weigh 22 lbs more and I've come up with the following;
- 1) obviously there could be scale error, not sure of the +/-
- 2) Arne said he had stuff (8-10 lbs) in the car; I removed EVERYTHING out of the car.
- 3) I use Chevron 94 non-ethanol fuel exclusively and the scale is across town from the scale....and I didn't drive straight there....now I'm berating myself for not filling up immediately afterwards so I had a better handle on the weight of fuel. My gauge showed full but there was some fuel burned obviously.....I don't know; perhaps 5-10 lbs worth.
- 4) I weighed the "stuff" I removed from the car; the manual, various sundries and the "fix a flat" goop.....8 lbs.
.....so the take-away from all this introspection is that despite the above, the coupe should weigh slightly less...albeit not much. MBourne's weight is probably more accurate than mine though I DID weigh myself with what I was wearing at the time to eliminate that variable.
It could be option differences as well. In addition, more things became std. on later model year Rs.
Good point except I think I have every option there is/was except the lighted sills (can't weigh much) and the heated windscreen (ditto). Not including the AWD, of course.
The right answer is probably "all of the above"; different scales, variable degrees of accuracy weighing drivers, contents and fuel loads.
If we get to a +/- of 0.5% (20 lbs-ish) we're probably doing very well.

Yes, that's close to round-off error.
With regard to options, what I was thinking is that things like Performance Seats were options on the '14 V8S, and I'm not sure, but they may have become standard on the '15 V8S. I've seen several '14 V8S cars with base-type Sport Seats, which do weigh a fair amount less than the Performance Seats.

I have the lighted sills, there was about 5 lbs of detailing stuff in the boot. I think we are pretty close.
Last week I decided to get my MY 2016 V6S 8spd. auto convertible weighed. Result: 1640kg with a 1/4 tank of fuel on an official government certified scale that has a 10kg accuracy.
1640 kg would be a fine result if I had not gone through the the effort of lightweight forged 20" wheels (stance) (24kg reduction), the Liteblox battery (26kg reduction) and the Wortec 2PC rotors (21kg reduction). So without the weight reductions my F-type was 1710kg (3770lbs)
with a 1/4 tank of fuel. My F-type is reasonably well specked (has almost every option except it has the basic seats and no memory full electric seats or leather options.
I had estimated/hoped for 1570 kg without fuel (quarter tank is roughly 15kg fuel) so like the others here on the forum I have to conclude that my F-type is from factory 55kg heavier than JLR admit.
1640kg = 3616 lbs
I am considering now to change the seats for lighter seats. My guess is that the factory seats weigh 30- 35kg each. Installing the MY2018 seats will save a meagre 7kh and I fear JLR will charge a large sum for new seats (group buy?). There is a large number of high quality aftermarket seats that recline and weigh only around 15kg a piece, but seat heating and airbag will be difficult to include. I plan to start a new threat on lightweight seats, the potential weight saving is 30-40kg.
