I bought my car from used from a Porsche dealer, who told me the car is Salsa Red. However, in looking at car pics on the forum it looks more like Italian Racing Red to me. It clearly has burgundy hues.
Can anyone clear this up definitively for me? Is there a particular digit in the VIN number that indicates original color?
Definitely Italian Racing Red. You can look on the paint code label on your door. It should say CAH. A list of paint codes can be found here All Jaguar F-TYPE Colors | GTCarLot.com Nice looking car by the way.

Thanks everyone for the help. Especially the info on the door label and VIN. Much appreciated.
A local Porsche dealer (Destin, FL) was selling a car almost identical to yours and called it Salsa red as well. They were closed when I looked at it so I couldn't get to the paint code.
Nice color but super retarded why Jag would have one chrome piece on the entire car with all other trim in black!
Just sayin' LOL. I have never in my existence ever seen a trim piece look so intentionally out of place. In this color scheme it's extremely noticeable with the black Tornados.
Can I ever get over this phobia?

CW3SF,
Taste is a personal thing. Don't let the opinion of others sway your thinking about your car. If you do want to go with black, there are options. It's a beautiful car either way.

That is the car I bought. I have a place in Santa Rosa Beach. Maybe we will see you out and about.

Thanks. Doesn't look out of place at all in person. There are plenty of chrome pieces throughout the car. There's even some on the Tornados. All black on everything looks over done.
