That's about the cost in the UK. The other 200% is tax.

Doesn’t matter. The octane indicates the anti-knock characteristics of the fuel regardless of the chemical content.

Understand, but E20 is knock resistant and is noticeably stronger (could be a weak base), but overall the car seems to hate it. More than just throwing a CEL above E20, the engine sounds worse from rasp as more E is introduced from E10.

So it makes sense to wonder if E should be reduced or eliminated from the E10 paradigm. It's not as costly as one might think. E0 is commonly distributed, but only at 87 within 70 miles of me.

https://www.pure-gas.org

If you can't get to 91 E0 or higher economically, Boostane or Octanium adds around $7 per full tank to bring pure gasoline from 87 to 91. Another $6 brings it to 93. Another $8 brings it to 94.

This chart makes me chuckle. 32oz per gal?

As I mentioned, octane is octane regardless of fuel composition but only indicates the anti- knock properties of the fuel. Many other properties of the fuel also affect the burn. In the case of ethanol, it will significantly impact the heat content of the fuel and the lamda that are also critical factors in the burn.

Our 93 is created with a little ethanol, sold as E10. If you can find 91 E0, you could add a bit more than 10% E85 (cheaper than 91 after subsidies) and you'd have our 93 E10. Maybe add a few oz of Lucas E stabilizer.

I don't recommend it though. I wish we didn't have 93 E10 and had real 91 E0 instead.

I'd have guessed you were an Islay man.

Lance, I thought a discerning gent such as you would drink nothing less than The Macallan Lalique 50?
A mere snip at $265,000 US per bottle: Macallan Lalique 50 Year old - 1 West Dupont Circle Wines & Liquors

As with cigars, I’m a value connoisseur. Something that tastes 10% better than a $100 bottle of scotch, isn’t worth $265,000. LOL

I'm of the opinion that if I'm paying that much for a container, I should get lifetime refills.

Our 93? Where are you from? Is it a secret?

JIMLIGHTA was shown the door, so his location will remain a mystery.

I wondered about that myself. My first choice was Maricopa Cnty AZ, with my second choice being Clark Cnty NV.

For some reason I think it's Texas. Can't remember why, but I think there was reference somewhere.

Someone said that this individuals Facebook listing divulged additional information. But I would not find west Texas hard to believe.

I was thinking more Houston-ish, perhaps because of a reference to a dealer. Then again, maybe I was hallucinating from chewing on peat moss.

Steve, I've got a fully paid-up lifetime lease on a huge parcel of Islay peat bog. Comes complete with a rent paying tenant farmer. If you're interested I'll make you a hulluva deal.

It wouldn't be the worst investment I've ever made. I've only been to Scotland once, when I was 15. I'm overdue for a return trip. I do try to get to the Highland Gather and Games each year though, especially now that they have Scotch tasting on site.
