What this guy dislikes about his R....

I watched skeptically, and it's a long way to go for it, so list below....
tl;dr -
1) Blind spots w/ rear view mirror blocking the whole windscreen.
2) I am tall too... you can't see traffic lights. I am laughing now.
3) over the top seat controls
4) the car sounds incredible outside, but it is a bit too refined inside (armytrix!)
5) He lusts after midengine supercars, but this amazing GT Sports car thing is ruining that for him.
=)

LightInSight - Windshield Mounted Traffic Light Lens
It's only about 5" wide and 2-3 " tall, but really solves the overhead traffic signal challenge.(static cling)

I love Sam's videos. I have time to give to anyone who is that enthusiastic about his car whatever model is.
On his blind spot comments: I agree completely. Corner visibility in the F Type is horrible anyway but it is not helped by the bulk of the rear view mirror. I don't drive anywhere as crowded as London streets or where there are "traffic calming measures" so it doesn't frustrate me very often but something simple like pulling around an obstruction at lower speeds often ends up being an exercise in guestimation and holding ones breath.
I'm pretty average height at 5'10". At least for my generation (early 80's) - nowadays most 11 year olds are 6' and still growing. I believe it is evolution breeding new generations taller so they can see over the increasingly larger tablets people take to film concerts to ruin it for the rest of us. Side rant over...![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I know it is still very much a concept even after two years but I think the future will bring transparent pillars like JLRs video below. Coupled with virtual winscreens/projection you could elminate all the pillars and internal mirrors completely.

He obviously bought the wrong car - should have gotten a 'vert.
I couldn't help but remember an old Magnum PI episode where we had to drive an E-Type 'vert instead of the 308...

I never had any interest the coupe. Over the last 30 years, I've never been without at least one convertible. However, when the manual came out I wanted to drive one, so my dealer let me take out a new manual coupe alone for a couple of hours.
I simply could not believe how horrible the rear visibility is in the coupe. It's actually quite good in the convertible with the top up. Obviously, it's perfect with the top down.

But I am still surprised that the vision pack is an *option*. The blind spots for my vert are surreal at times, and that does include not seeing cars on bent road 4 way stops..... but the downward mirror and back up video from the vision package makes it feel much safer/better.
I loved the vid, hence posting. Yes perfect Brit humor! But being 6'6" I knew I was in for some disadvantages... what he said is true, but as other poster said.... doesn't lessen my love for it.

Meh, the guy probably took a big hit on his (now once wrecked) 4C to trade into a used 'R' that he could barely afford without some kind of creative financing, (which is probably something like a 7 year loan), and then spends a fortune wrapping an already red car with red vinyl, replacing the factory exhaust and buying a set of almost the most expensive factory blade wheels (sourced through Jaguar so $$$).
I fear this will all end badly at some point...
