What oil filter have you decided to use?

I had read about adding a little oil to the bottom of the casting that the filter screws into so will be sure to do that when making the change. We can't pre soak or pre fill the Jaguar cannister filters with oil like you can with a conventional filter either.
It would be interesting to eyeball an OEM, a Mahle, a WIX and an AC Delco side by side. There are a lot of guys on the Bob Is The Oil Guy website that are obsessive about cutting open conventional filters and comparing the filter media, number of pleats and assembly quality. You certainly wouldn't have to cut open the Jaguar filters. A synthetic filter media is considered the best these days and the number of pleats will indicate how much surface area the filter has to do its job. Differences in construction quality may also be readily apparent. Some makers of conventional filters publish how many microns the filter will filter down to although I guess below a certain level it's all academic. Those numbers may or may not be available for the Jaguar filters.

Just a heads up. Liqui Moly has recently updated their JLR Spec oil for anyone who uses this. Next oil change I will be switching to their Top Tec 6600 series. It's supposed to help with better timing chain lubrication.

GF-6 was specifically formulated to help prevent low speed pre-ignition and reduce timing chain wear.
No problems with low speed pre-ignition on our cars (expect maybe the four potter?) but definitely historical problems with timing chain wear.
I switched to GF-6A at my last oil change.
Also note that there are two flavours of GF-6, GF-6A and GF-6B, and you want 6A not 6B for our cars, 6B is only for hybrid engines using ultra low viscosity 0W-16 oil.

I literally just ordered the old spec oil from FCPEuro last week. Well, I guess I could return it? The Top Tec 6600 is a pretty great price right now too:

I went ahead and did my oil change anyways with the old spec. Not really concerned since I drove only 4000 miles or so this past year, and FCP Euro took almost 2 weeks to ship to me. Ashamed to admit I spilled a bit, as I am not used to filling from the side of the vehicle as opposed to the front.
FYI, this very cheap 90mm filter wrench from FCP Euro worked great:

If you remember let me know how much it is to ship back the old oil to FCP. I have shopped there with my BMW for years and didn't know they did the oil program until about 2 years ago. I had my first oil return packaged up and figured it would be only $20 savings by the time I pay the shipping so I didn't send it back. I am contemplating the same now with the oil from the Jag that I just changed out.
