44yo. Exec. for Wall St. Firm. Never owned a sports car. Never owned a Jag.

Was looking to replace the wife's Lexus GS and stumbled across the XJL. The new Lexus seemed stale to me and the BMWs and Merc's do nothing for me. While considering the XJL for her, I then stumbled across the F-Type. Yes I live under a rock and was completely unaware.

Test drove the R two months ago and simply couldn't/can't get it out of my mind. Ordered last week when I picked up the XJL for the wife.

Tied for youngest of the thread at age 26. Electrical Engineer. Was looking to upgrade my Porsche when I decided I needed more bang/dollar. Or just more bang in general. Just got an F type.

Man. 38. Management Consultant. Also drive a 2014 M5 and my fiancé drives a Lexus RX. I'm British too so having my first British car is a proud moment for me, especially because I wouldn't have bought it were it not better than the German competition.

Ah interesting. That means we are either partners or competitors. A quick scan of our directory suggests the latter if your username is based on your actual name.

49 and manage a company that sells parts for heavy construction and mining equipment worldwide.

I’ve always been a BMW guy and like many never considered a Jaguar. The F-Type is my first and I am loving it!

I thought I would be the senior member here but I see a few others have me beat. I turn 66 this Saturday and I am a woman. I have always loved cars and was planning to trade in my current BMW 650 convertible for a Porsche (have owned 2 previously) until I saw the R coupe. The design was the initial draw but then fell in love with the power and the exhaust note. I am a lawyer specializing in export and import regulations for a company in the oil and gas business.

What a great set of posts. I think I enjoyed reading them more than anything I've read on the Forum. Fascinating. And although I don't have an F-type (yet), I have 3 Jags, 2002 XJ Sport (my older son's car now), 2002 XKR convertible (my daily driver for past 5 years and just love it), 2010 XKR coupe (needed something I could take to the track that was a little more modern than my 1972 De Tomaso Pantera).

Always loved cars and have collected a few of my favorites over the years.
And by the way, I'm 61, so I find myself on the older part of the spectrum of owners, but I'm sure like the rest of us "geezers," we certainly don't feel any older than you young "whippersnappers" when we're tearing up roads and tracks in our performance Jaguars.

Well, this is where how old you are vs. how old you feel kicks in. My father is 74. He owns a 140mph motorcycle. The spec sheet says something close to this. Think about it...

Might be the youngest here, just turned 26 in Dec.

Former USMC, now own and operate rental property. Wasn't into cars until I found Top Gear 2 years ago. Looked at everything on the market and no other brand grabbed me like Jaguar did.

Buying F-Type R in March, possibly earlier if I am lucky.

Agree with Schraderade, looking forward to the new XK.
