Maybe it's just an early model vs late model thing, but my oil level reading has never varied by even a micron (except once, see below).
11 minutes after shut down, 11 hours after shut down, two days after shut down, ambient temp 40 F, ambient temp 100 F, it always and I mean ALWAYS reads exactly smack on the "max" mark. Also I have never once topped up the oil in 39 months of ownership.
The one exception was the first (and so far only time) I used the vacuum pump top extraction method where I added the required 7.25 litres but the level read "overfilled", and I later discovered that I had extracted only some 6.5 litres due to miles out volume markings on the pump container - it read 7.25 litres when it was really only 6.5 litres.

My MY18 is the same, never had to top it up, and the only time it doesn't show "max" is when it's not dead level when parked. I don't do huge mileages, but do use most of the throttle travel most of time.

RacerX, you were spot on. I took it to the dealer and the Shop Foreman added exactly 1 quart. Now it reads Full. Thanks for the insight.

My oil reads 2-3 clicks below maximum okay oil level in the morning. Then after driven and then cooled down for 10 plus minutes it reads perfect at the okay max level (where I think you want it ).
I don't know what the hell I should be doing because of this. Leave it alone or add. Drives me nuts and only started doing this since I did the oil change a little while ago. Very annoying.

I had the same reading, just below max when cold in the morning. I’ve had my my16 s coupe since last August and it always showed full when cold that changed after my oil change at Paramus Jaguar. I spoke to AJ (Anthony Nguyen service advisor) about this and he said bring her in the next day. Connor the service technician checked the car over and stated that when cold it could show below max level, after driving and checking after 10 minutes it should show max. I’m happy to report that Connor was correct. I check my oil and tire pressure every time before I take her out for a drive. I’ve had very good service with Paramus Jaguar with AJ and Connor who are the only ones assigned to my jag. I have no hesitation recommending this dealer for service and suggest you ask for AJ and Connor specifically.
