Wheel spacers
Hi all,
Have read lots of wisdom here about wheel spacers / adapters. Can anyone confirm whether these parts would be correct? It's to go with the 20" blades, stock geometry.

Thanks!

Yep, I have Blade wheels and 15 mm spacers, no trimming required.
I have commented on this many times before but AFAICT the Blades are the only F-Type OEM wheels with big enough / deep enough recesses between the stud holes to take the original wheels studs with 15 mm spacers with no trimming of the studs or grinding/drilling of the wheels.
It's almost as though Jag intended those with Blade wheels, and only those with Blades, to fit 15 mm spacers!

They are used 99% of the time simply to push the wheels out a bit so as to better fill the wheel wells and improve the "stance" and looks of the car.
To many the stock F-Type looks a little "knock kneed" with the wheels tucked too far under the guards.
Pushing the wheels out a bit may also improve grip and handling but that is debatable.
There is a lot of confusion between "spacers" and "adapters", particularly with hub-centric spacers often being called adapters.
I use the term adapters for those fittings which allow you to fit wheels with a completely different bolt pattern and/or PCD (Pitch Centre Diameter), for example see here:

Thanks all for the great responses. I think I understand the specifications now so I'll keep looking. I've had a quick dig in the classifieds section on here but don't think I can see anything applicable (though I got a bit lost in there). The Motorsports-Tech ones look great but given that I'm in the UK they will end up a fairly expensive option by the time shipping is factored in so I'll probably keep trying until I can find something suitable in Europe.
Thanks again!

One more on the same subject: I'm assuming that people are using the same factory torque on the nuts (~92.2 lb/ft / 125NM) when attaching both the spacer to the car and the wheel to the spacer? I can't think why not but I know what they say about assumptions....

I’ve used both SSC and Motorsport Tech adaptors and they are comparable quality. You’ll want SSC’s System 3 adaptor. Available in plain aluminum as well as black and silver anodized.

These arrived a few days ago and today I got around to fitting one of them (I know fitting one is a weird thing to do but I spent the whole day cleaning, dismantling and ceramic coating the wheel while it was removed from the car). They are really nice parts and work perfectly with the blade wheels without any modification to studs or anything. I've done one side on the rear and it's fun to look at the difference in stance between the spaced side and the stock - IMHO it looks so much better spaced out. I obviously haven't driven it yet as I prefer my wheels to be symmetrical but it looks like the 15mm spacing should still clear the bodywork without difficulty.
Thanks to all who helped on the thread. I'll post some pictures when I've done all 4 wheels ;-)
