When are we going to start talking frameless mirror retro...

Worth the money to change it? Probably not.

The framed mirror creates a pretty massive blind spot for me. There are a few uphill right-hand turns in my commute where the road ahead is completely obscured and I have to lean to look around the mirror to see where I'm going.
I might have to drop in to the dealer and see whether the new mirror is enough smaller to be worth the effort.
EDIT: I recall that the wiring changed (>2017?) from discussions of hardwiring radar detectors. That might cause difficulty for those of us with earlier cars.

I can't imagine a frameless mirror would provide more than a few millimeters, and while I understand that every little bit counts... if you really cared about vision you bought the wrong car.

The most constantly annoying thing about my F-Type is the lack of a Home-Link Button. I can live with most of JLR's cheapskate decisions to leave out reasonable features, but not having a home link button drives me crazy. If I wanted to put up with Porsche and their options policy I would have bought a 911. My MB is two years older and has a wealth of features the F-Type does not. Poop, my Volvo 2004 V70 R is 10 years older and still has better technology. I thought when I bought an F-Type I would get contemporary technological features. Wrong. Its like a 1950's car. My XK8, V70R and E350 are all better.

That indicates a few possibillities:
1) Other factors outweighed visibility, either individually, or in combination
2) I'm an idiot
3) It's hard to fully judge some aspects until you live with them on a daily basis
4) Test driving on the flats, even for an extended time, won't show that
5) The car isn't perfect
There are certainly other factors, and more than one may apply. I'd say two, at minimum, and quite likely all.

I'm not even sure what a Home-Link button does, so don't miss it. The infotainment and navigation are a bit slow-witted sometimes, and if they weren't standard there's a good chance I'd have not included them in my order.

Here you go, 2018MY starts at K49804
Just remember if you are ordering a mirror with a garage door opener, there are different frequencies in different countries.
Federal = North America = 315MHz
China = who knows
The one that doesn't specify a market I am going to guess this is 434MHz but I don't know for sure
Low Power = Not a clue what that means

Just yankin' your chain. I would have assumed that most new cars on the lot would have the convenience option included, given the market the dealers are targeting. But, instead, the dealers are trying to keep the entry cost as low as possible by ordering stripped models for inventory.

Opens gates & garage doors, turns on houselights. Can remotely turn on any other device the imagination can come up with if the device is plugged into a receiver, but that's a subject for another thread.
