A week ago a sales representative from a local Jaguar dealership (on the north side of Atlanta) emailed me and said that they received their first manual F-Type. I went by today and drove it.

I'm very pleased with how it shifts. The clutch is a little stiffer that I would like, but nothing that I can't deal with. I honestly can't imagine buying an F-Type without a manual transmission. I am very surprised that the dealership didn't have it presold. That tells me that there isn't much demand for manuals in this car.

I think I answered my own question. Testing on the XF loaner, just holding up on the p-brake button will slow you down.

Yes, my older Cherokee Trailhawk (2014) has the EPB. I love the setup option to set the EPB automatically when the vehicle is placed in Park - and it automatically releases if you hit the go pedal without releasing it. Jag: are you listening???

The Jag EPB releases on its own as well. It just lacks the automatic engagement with Park.

Place in Park? What does that mean? I haven't found that setting in my F-Type. Maybe they had to leave it off to make room for the third pedal ...

That's funny, my 2015 Trailhawk will automatically apply the EPB when I put it in P, but it does not automatically release it when I put it in D or R. In other words, it works exactly the opposite of the F-Type, which doesn't automatically set in P, but automatically releases in D or R.

It doesn't release when placed in D or R....it releases when you hit the go pedal.

Place in Park....a nice location with trees and picnic tables...the EPB sets automatically. No, in this case "Place in Park" means put the Jeep shifter lever into P and the EPB sets automatically if so selected as a safety feature.

Interestingly, I just noticed that the EPB is engaging automatically when I stop the car, clutch engaged, in first gear, with my foot on the brake. Once i push the 'off' button the parking brake engages automatically. I had been worried about forgetting to engage it, but it looks like Jag thought about this....

My EPB automatically engages and disengages as well. I guess an added safety feature provided for the 6 speeds.

Thar it is. Just got it home. Bunch of catching up to do on my house before I dig in and really get some decent shots, but that's the gist of it.

Really dig the pearly white in different lighting at night. And so does everyone else, so far.

The one thing I wish the EPB had is an illuminated light on the switch itself to tell you it's on, like every other switch on the center console. I know there's a light in the dash but that just means you have to look up and down each time for no good reason. Had EPB in my S5 and it had a switch light which was more user friendly than the Jag setup.

Agreed. Dare I report that my Jeep has an ON/OFF light for the EPB?!?!

Actually, my Trailhawk does not. Tried that. Hitting the go pedal results in not going unless I release the parking brake with the button.

Perhaps that feature isn't on the 2015. From my 2014 Jeep Owner's Manual: "The parking brake will release automatically when the Ignition switch is ON, the transmission is in Drive or Reverse, the driver seat belt is buckled, and an attempt is made to drive away." Is your seat belt buckled?????

Wow! The "Bordello Red" interior really stands out.

This is the combination a co-worker has been talking about for (maybe) next year: white with red leather. I'll have to show this to him. He'll be quite envious.

I think so, but that's a good question. I often put it on as I'm initially pulling out, so that could be it.

Thanks for the reminder.

So is the lowered center console cover just in the manual transmission F-Types or is it in all the 2016 F-Types? I noticed it immediately when test driving and have to say that they got the level just right.
