Who has ordered the 6 speed?

A week ago a sales representative from a local Jaguar dealership (on the north side of Atlanta) emailed me and said that they received their first manual F-Type. I went by today and drove it.

I'm very pleased with how it shifts. The clutch is a little stiffer that I would like, but nothing that I can't deal with. I honestly can't imagine buying an F-Type without a manual transmission. I am very surprised that the dealership didn't have it presold. That tells me that there isn't much demand for manuals in this car.

Place in Park? What does that mean? I haven't found that setting in my F-Type. Maybe they had to leave it off to make room for the third pedal ...

That's funny, my 2015 Trailhawk will automatically apply the EPB when I put it in P, but it does not automatically release it when I put it in D or R. In other words, it works exactly the opposite of the F-Type, which doesn't automatically set in P, but automatically releases in D or R.

Interestingly, I just noticed that the EPB is engaging automatically when I stop the car, clutch engaged, in first gear, with my foot on the brake. Once i push the 'off' button the parking brake engages automatically. I had been worried about forgetting to engage it, but it looks like Jag thought about this....

The one thing I wish the EPB had is an illuminated light on the switch itself to tell you it's on, like every other switch on the center console. I know there's a light in the dash but that just means you have to look up and down each time for no good reason. Had EPB in my S5 and it had a switch light which was more user friendly than the Jag setup.

Wow! The "Bordello Red" interior really stands out.
This is the combination a co-worker has been talking about for (maybe) next year: white with red leather. I'll have to show this to him. He'll be quite envious.

Perhaps that feature isn't on the 2015. From my 2014 Jeep Owner's Manual: "The parking brake will release automatically when the Ignition switch is ON, the transmission is in Drive or Reverse, the driver seat belt is buckled, and an attempt is made to drive away." Is your seat belt buckled?????
