Seems like they truly are next to each other on the assembly line (unless they gave us the exact same order number - we can settle that with dueling pistols):
Last date of order change: 4/28/2015
Build date: 5/22/2015
Factory Complete Date: 6/8/15
Scheduled Delivery date: 7/22/2015

Why are there 17 days between Build and Factory Complete Date?? Seems about triple the actual time.

I was wondering about that too, but that's what it says on the build sheet.

Maybe its all those little gears they have to piece together.

I know on my build sheet, it didn't give an actual build date. It was labeled as "Week Ending..." besides, you don't want a car built on a Friday. Workers want to leave early for the weekend. You never know what kind of shortcuts they will take. (You don't want one made on Monday either, everyone is still hung over!)

Well, since it's scheduled to be built over a couple of weeks, there will be a couple of components hastily thrown together and another couple assembled by drunks. Clearly the sound systems get built on Fridays.

As long as the motor and the gearbox are put together well, it will be happy days.

Can anyone who has ordered their 6 speed confirm that the switchable active exhaust comes standard on the V6 base?

From what I understand it is an OPTION on the V6 Base 8 Speed Automatic, but just want clarification.

Other than yourself, there may only 2 or 3 of us ordering the 6 speed, and I think we're all going for the V6S. Based on the Jag configurator, the base speed comes standard with the switchable exhaust. That exhaust , however, is not even offered as a option on the base automatic.

When does 6 speed production begin?

After 4 months of waiting finally received order number for '16 V6S 6 speed but told preliminary production date of June 28th with estimated delivery in August.

Mine order sheet specifies the following:
Last Date of order change: 4/28 (now locked in stone)
Accepted Build Date: 5/22
Current planned build date Week ending): 5/22
Factory complete date: 6/8
Accepted Dealer delivery date: 7/17
Planned dealer delivery date: 7/17
Planned handover date: N/A
Ordering period:1505

Even though I placed my deposit on 11/25/14, the dealer couldn't actually enter it into the production system until 4/3.
I'm guessing May is the first production period for the customer destined 6 speeds, though a certain number have already been produced for press demos.

So, I also ordered the 6 speed manual -- I may be the only one here that got the base V6. My theory was that the extra 40hp wouldn't be noticeable on the manual.

I ordered mine on 2/28/15 with the following specs:

2016 F Type V6 manual transmission
Exterior colour: White/Polaris
Interior: jet/jet (black stitching on black leather)
Premium package (which includes the vision pack, and climate pack)
Heated windshield
19" orbit gloss black and diamond turned rims

Comments about the dealer only being able to enter the order in April appear to be somewhat true based on my experience. I was initially promised that if I ordered in Feb, I could be one of the first to get the car since few were ordering the manual transmission. The anticipated delivery was initially May/June. But, then it was 'early fall' -- check out the attached print screen I was sent -- now delivery is August. From what the dealership tells me, the production can change a lot and could be bumped up again.

Do you know the production date for "Nessie"? Just wondering when actual production starts for US spec 6 speeds.

Hey bb_sam
Iniital promises for my 6 sp V6S were for June, but it looks like it's pushed to a July build and Aug delivery as well.

I'll try and get a screen grab form my sales guy as well.

BTW, ordering mine from Budds.
I've been told that "sold" cars get bumped up and so I might be able to get a "bump" notice... I hope.

Just spoke to my dealer, he said that he placed my order in the system last week, but couldn't provide any more details such as tracking. Does that sound right or am I getting the run around?

Once the dealer enters the order, it needs to be accepted and confirmed by Jag based on the dealer's allocations. The common order number is then issued. How fast this occurs is based on whether the dealer has an immediate allocation for the body style (coupe vs conv.) and transmission (AWD vs auto vs manual). Have you negotiated a deal and submitted a deposit?

Haven't negotiated on price yet, however they did run a credit check at the time. They asked 2.5k deposit.

They probably won't get serious about trying lock down one of their allocations for you until you've given them a deposit (even though it is refundable). But, don't put down the deposit until you've negotiated the deal. The deals on 2016s are now running between MSRP (no deal) up to 5% off. I used the AAA car buying service internet discount coupon for a 2015 to negotiate the 2016 price.

They have already taken the deposit. It was my understanding that it still is negotiable until I see the car on the lot
