Default Who makes the F Type engines?

Does Jaguar manufacture them in-house or is it really a BMW/Mercedes/Ford/Whatever engine?

V6 and V8: Ford, although that deal finishes in 2020.

4-pot: Jag's own Ingenium engine.

The supercharged v6 & v8's are essentially the same Ford block. Jaguar has announced that program is ending by 2020 if not well before. The 4 cylinder is a Jag design and the new inline 6 will be a similar Jag model. Lots of thread already exist so no point in going into any further detail here. The story I hear is that Jaguar builds the V6 and V8 in a Ford plant.

Wikipedia:
Jaguar engine plant[edit]

Jaguar Land Rover have a "plant-within-a-plant" at Bridgend, which saved considerable investment costs by JLR. Staffed by workers dedicated to Jaguar production of the AJ engine, it includes a linked flow-line of computer numerically controlled machines with automated loading and assembly. Component supply is on a "just-in-time" basis. [4][5][6][7] JLR will move the production of its engines to its new Wolverhampton plant by 2018.[8]

Wikipedia:
That is correct and it is not a story: these engines were designed/engineered by Jaguar and built under contract at the Ford engine plant. But they are not Ford engines. In fact Ford borrowed some of the engineering from Jaguar. The earlier V6 engines, such as used in the X-Type and S-Type were indeed based on the Ford Duratec, but re-engineered by Jaguar. These are not the same as the current V6 supercharged units.
