Ahh, I love the snarky pseudo-intellectual tactics . . ."stated fact" simply meant "articulated assertion." However, of course, in the age of Jon Stewart or John Oliver, being snarky is supposed to intimidate the other side to think that there is some type of intellectual superiority. Ahh, no. Hardly. No silly debate on John Oliver is going to convince anyone who does not want their country to descend into pure state-controlled socialism that climate change exists. The socialists are scaring the public to believe in fake crises such as climate change.

Consider this: In the Northeast US, where I live, this is the 3rd coldest February in history. The last time it was this cold was in 1979, and then 1934 before that. Do you see a pattern?? Every 40-50 years, the Earth goes through cycles, and it has nothing to do with manmade climate change.

Back in the 70's, they were ringing the alarm at a new manmade ice age. Then, when they could not support the proposition that it was getting colder, in the early 2000's, they talked about global warming . . .when that didn't exactly pan out, they now are peddling out the more general term "climate change" (the propagandists learned from their past embarrassments). It's a joke.

There is no weather pattern that currently exists that did not exist over 100 years ago when there were less fossil fuels being burned in the atmosphere.

I don't want my country to go down the socialist road, and especially not because of half-baked, disingenuous propaganda.

Finally, I have to at least say that I am consistent. I drive a 550 hp, Supercharged V8 sports car that burns fuel like a *****, and has a significant carbon footprint. I don't care because I don't believe in manmade climate change. What's your angle, Oz?

My angle? I openly admit to being part of the problem, which fortunately means I have the opportunity to also participate in the solution. At least, I'm not in a state of denial or ignorance like you're demonstrating. Let me ask you - is there any authoritative source or expert opinion you would listen to or accept on the subject? I suspect the answer is No. Therefore, there's no point exploring the topic any further with you.

But as I said earlier, it's all good for you - the fairies at the bottom of your garden will be sleeping snugly tonight.

I took the F-Type to work today. There is now so much road salt on it that from some angles it looks pink...

Wow.....you Ftypers??

How did a nice conversation about taking the F type out in Cold weather turn into a climate change scenario?
Definitely "off topic"

I'll let it run for now, but as always please play nicely with each other, we're ALL like minded enthusiasts here and there's no need to get each others backs up with silly comments and posturing.

Anyone who decides to continue in this vein will enjoy a short holiday from the forum and a permanent one of continued on return.

Ah - pics of the "pink" F-Type tomorrow.

In the meantime, here's one I prepared earlier...

I too was wondering how it took a detour. Needless to say my intention was, and remains, to merely - ONLY - to promote the, eh, benefits of year-round F-Type driving. And, lhoboy: I think you mistook me for someone else...[re] poking the stick.

Best regards, to all!

Not to worry. I knew your intentions were benign.

Of course I've come to the conclusion that I might have to sell my F-Type to pay for the snow-plow guy. That's how much snow we, and other parts of the US, have been getting. Thought our Western & Southern F-Type Forum members would like to know.

Donations are being accepted at: www.saverickyjay52'sftypefromthesnowplowguy***.org

*** isn't being blocked by Forum Mods, but merely my representation of SNOW.

Thank you for your contributions.
