Unhappy Why me?

Bought my nearly new F-Type 380 R AWD Coupe from a Jaguar dealer in the East Midlands this time last year. Got it home after a spirited drive and found 'Oil Overfill' display. After recovering from reading the owner's manual (Do not drive. Call for assistance) I called Jaguar Assistance who came out to my home address to remove oil.

Booked in to my local Jaguar dealer for a second service last week (West country.) When I returned home, I found 'Oil Overfill' again. The dealer sent a flatbed truck to collect the vehicle. Waiting to hear when it will be returned.

A great car, spoilt by poor dealer service.

When mine was serviced I watched the technician check the oil level as "OK". MIne occasionally shows as overfilled depending on time after running, (slight) angle of incination, etc, so it may not be the absolute disaster you fear - This oil apparently expands mightily.

I thought that my dealer had overfilled my AWD Coupé too. It turned out that they had in fact put in 6.5 litres but charged me for 7.25 litres.
Took a while to figure out why the oil level was ok!

"Why me?" Because they all do that... It's poor design combined with poor training.

Because the awd cars take 1 litre less. Sometimes i forget to check if awd because there are not that common and end up sucking out a litre when i always check level when done. **** happens

After a forensic review by the dealer, they found the oil level was actually 6.7 litres. Oil removed to register correct levels. Wish they did this properly in the first place. The original health check supplied with my service invoice showed a green 'ok' check for oil level, but there's no way this was right as it was showing 'Oil Overfill' both hot and cold.

Relieved that it's unlikely any engine damage was caused by an extra 200ml.

Time to find another (hopefully, better) dealer for servicing. Anyone have any recommendations for UK/West Country/M4 corridor/Bristol/Bath area?

Onwards and upwards.

sorry i have a life besides trying to memorize what came out/in when and what models . Remember i work on all jaguars from the 90 to present not just f types, and all repairs front to rear. Not specialized like so many other brands. I have a 2016 3.0 model s in my stall not awd.

I would guess that less than 1/2 of the S cars are AWD.
