Default Will the F-type survive?

Proud owner of my 2014 base V6, now with @ 27k miles on her. With so many iterations of the F-type in just a few short years, I'm wondering what the future of the F-type holds? I have read a few time in the past that it may no longer be a 2 seater (which would be a shame) and instead morph into the old XK. The 4 cylinder variant is coming (similar to the Porsche 718). Does the F-type end up having multiple generations and get better and better, or does it become less exciting and more mainstream?

The last XK model was around for 8 years. So I'd say you have at least 4 or more years in it's life cycle. Even if they morph into a 4 seat version, one would hope they keep the 2 seat version as well. All depends on money, even though F type sales are down over last year and a whole Jaguar has done really well in the US this year. Lets hope they keep growing the brand.

I don't think that Jaguar is doing a good job of getting the word out about the F-Type. Most people don't know what a Jaguar F-Type is when I mention it to them. Many have never seen one on the road. I never knew about the car until I saw one early this year. I think more people would buy them once they become aware of it. Awareness comes through good marketing. They could place the cars in high end malls or at events like many other brands do. They could run more commercials and magazine ads. Jaguar doesn't seem to be doing much to sell the car.

When I did the Factory Tour a couple of months ago I learned that the F-Type line only runs week days and finishes at 4pm. They aim to make 52 cars a day.

I agree, Jaguar isn't advertising F-type well. When I went shopping for a new car, F-type (or even Jaguar) wasn't on my radar. I was set to buy 911, and it took gross incompetence from a local salesperson for me to encounter F-type in searches. The only way I discovered it was due to an active search for 911 alternatives. To compare, I knew about C7, SL, R8, 4C Spider, 911 all without having to search for it.

I was waiting for the Infiniti Q60 (3.0T 400ps. version) for 5 months already and still not available here in Taiwan until 03/2017. Accidentally saw the Jag F-Type last month when visiting the dealer with a friend who was interested for XJ. I never know Jaguar has such a beauty sport car (cuz never seen any advertising here). I was so amazed and shocked to see one in person for the first time. So a week later, this sexy beast is in my garage. Never in my life that I would ever think of buying a Jaguar. They do have good cars and SUV now and what they need to do most is to get more attention and promote more where ever they can.

Personally, I don't see much advertising of half of the ones you mentioned.. I've never seen a TV commercial for a 4C. I did see several Jag commercials.. Audi doesn't highlight the R8 on it's own, but it does make an appearance sometimes in their commercials.

If you are referring to dealer commercials/advertising, then that will depend on the area. In my area, only the "common brands" do TV adds (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Kia, etc). There are no dealer adds/commercials for Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc.. If you want one of those cars, you already know where to go...

I don't think Jaguar ever intends on selling a ton of F-Types. Audi never intends on selling a bunch of R8's. That's not their core markets.
