Wills these wheels work?
Hi guys, will these TSW Nurburgring wheels will work on theF-Type? Obviously the center bore is larger, so I’ll have to use some hubrings, and the rears are a different bolt pattern , therefore I’ll have to useadapters from Motorsport Tech.
The stock 20’s are 9 and 10.5 in width and the offsets are55 and 38. So does that means the TSW fronts with 40 offset will stick out moreby 15mm (55-40 = 15)? And the rears will stick out by 13mm right?

Front
20x8.5 TSWonly makes the 5x108 bolt pattern in the 20x8.5 size, therefore I can’t get20x9
Offset/ET: 40
Bolt pattern: 5x108
Center bore: 72
Rear
20x10.5
Offset/ET: 25
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3 again, there is no 20x10.5 in the bolt pattern of 5x108
Center bore: 76

Since the fronts are a 1/2 " narrower than OEM, they will stickout just 8.65mm more. That will look good (I have 15mm spacers all the way around). The rears will stick out 13mm more (that alone is ok), but you will also have to add to that the thickness of whatever the adapter is. That might push those wheels out too far.
Oh, and the hub adapters in front will push the fronts out further as well.

None whatsoever. You'll have more than normal inner fender clearance, and unless you plan on lowering the car substantially, the extended wheels are unlikely to rub on the outer fender.

Hey there
I've you're more into that particular design instead of the brand the wheels are coming from... how about the Schmidt Revolution Gambit Wheels?
F-Type Typ QQ6 - Gambit-1-tlg - 20'' - von Felge.de
I've done quite some research even before my F-Type arrived, since I really like a custom set of wheels. But I had a hard time, the choice is small if you need the proper papers like here in Switzerland! But these Gambit are an option I'd consider. They fit our car perfectly! unfortunately the design isn't very clear with black on black
however, don't know if you can find a dealer for them depending on where you're located... anyway, good luck

Hey caunyd
Sorry, this isn't my car... these are the only pictures of the wheels I found on an F-Type, they can be had specifically for the car.
I'll be probably for other custom made wheels...
Hey Unhingd
I wouldn't say the same about similarity to the Gyrodines... their spokes actually have an angular side profile, where as these we're talking about have thins straight spokes. It's more apparent when looked at them right on

What size and kind of tires would you recommend for these TSW Nurburgring wheels? I want to get Michelin Pilot Supersports, but I don't know what sizes would be best for these wheels. Note: I've changed the rear wheel specs, so that there is more offset so that I can use adapters.

If you use a 65 offset in the rear it will be very "inset". (Probably to the point on internal contact.)
The stock 10 1/2" rims have an offset of 38, and I think are too far "in" at that.
With an offset of 65 you will be over an inch further in.
Many people are adding 15mm spacers to their wheels to improve their look, and you would be going in the opposite direction.
I have just ordered 9" fronts with an offset of 45 and 10 1/2" rears with an offset of 28. That will push each wheel "out" 10mm from the stock location, and I will be able to purchase one size wider tires next time and have the outside be exactly 15mm out from stock.

Unhingd, what size tires do you think will optimize performance? and what size tires do you think will look good in terms of aggressiveness?
Dougrobling. Thanks for the response. I understand what you're saying about being too inset. However, the reason I want to use the rears with the 65 offset is because I'm going to have to use an adapter to make the rear wheels work, as TSW doesn't make 20x10.5 with the bolt pattern of 108. It's going to be a custom adapter made by motorsports tech. I'll make it so that the adapter is appropriate thickness so that it'll make the wheel flush with the fenders (therefore the adapter also works as a spacer). Btw, which wheels are you going with?

I've always fancied the widest possible, but I'm not certain whether you'll discern much difference in traction even between the OEM 295 and a 315. To maintain reasonably similar diameters between the front and back tires I would suggest going with the 255/35-20 in front and the 305/30-20 in back. That is the pairing I would have done if the 305s had been available when I replaced the P-Zero tires with the Michelin PSS. As it was I had to settle on the OEM 295 width.

As always, thanks Unhingd. I go on Tirerack all the time, but I don't know where to look to determine what is the allowable width range for each tire for a particular wheel width. Where do I look up this information or how do I calculate it?
Is it that you're looking at what the OEM tire diameter is for the 20 inch wheels, and selecting other sizes based on whether these other tire sizes have a diameter that is similar to the OEM diameter? And if so, what is the allowable variation in tire diameter?

- Description Sizes Specs Warranty
Select Specs and it gives you all specs including wheel fitment for all sizes that particular tire comes in.
Regarding tire diameter, I always try to stay within 5% of OEM, but I don't know what the modern electronics can handle. Back when people were still doing all the driving, you could put any clown sized tire on your car to give it that California rake.

I was thinking of the Bridgestone Protenza RE-70's.
They come in 265-35-20 and 305-30-20.
I don't know as much about these, but Protenza RE-71R seems to be the tire of choice for autocross and track day events in many classes......(I ran them all year last year on my Lotus with a great deal of success, but the 71's don't come in the larger sizes)
Does anyone have any experience with these?
