Wind Deflector - worthwhile?

My convertible came without the mesh wind deflector.
Rimmer will ship me the OEM part for $296 including mounting brackets.
So, will the deflector makes much difference?
Since I do not have the brackets already fitted, buying non-OEM does not appear to be an option.
Rimmer does seem to have the best price, so will this feel like $300 well spent?

Unfortunately those little plastic brackets are no able to be purchased separately that I’ve ever been able to find. Perhaps someone can 3D print them because the price of the whole assembly is ridiculously expensive for what it is. Your price from Rimmer is the best I’ve seen. The defector does help though not as much as you might think.

Have you tried Car-Parts.com?
They link many salvage yards for parts scavenging . The search function sucks. But, unfortunately, there are many wrecked F-Type convertibles of all stripes. Most are totaled from collisions and suffer weather damage from sitting in yards, but you could find the complete set up.
I don't see where you can search by parts #. Search by something broad: 2016 - Jaguar - F-Type - "Seats" and you'll get listings, often with many pictures. Then drill down from there.
Here's some examples I just pulled:

That is unfortunate about the brackets because the mesh deflector obstructs the view. I also switched mine for the plexiglass. As noted, not quite as good but the view is a lot better and I've had it for 4 years now, still in good condition. If you look at Amazon you will see mixed reviews on the plexiglass option.

I am among those who have replaced the mesh screen with a clear plastic one. I agree it's much better visibility. One additional thought to the suggestions above - even if you can't find a complete set of brackets & screen in a junk yard, if you just find the brackets, you can get the screen separately (mesh or clear).

I took mine off ages ago (didn't like the look) and haven't given it a second thought since.
It could easily be that I've simply forgotten the difference that it made.
However, I've never found top-down air movement particularly disturbing since I removed the deflector.
In fact I've never even thought about it.
YMMV.
