Default Winter storage tips?

I am about to put my F type in storage in the back of the garage for the winter. New to Jaguars so was wondering if anyone does anything special for storage. I’ve bumped up the tire pressure, done an oil change and put a trickle charge on it. Any other to do’s?

I would recommend putting a container of Stabil in the gas tank....also, check the car every so often to ensure you don't have any critters hibernating..

Check for any damp on the mats. I put my E type away once after I returned from a rainy journey - didn't realise I'd walked quite a lot of wet onto the mats. Went back to the car after a fairly long period and found mildew growing.

Fill the tank with good-quality fuel.

You covered the basics. I usually run some fuel system cleaner (BK or Redline) through the car in the last tank of gas for the season before the final refill. I used to make sure the gas tank was full but fuel systems are pretty much sealed now due to emissions controls so I don't really care if its full. I also wash and wax the car before storage to make it easier to wash the dust off when I take it out in the spring.

Remember to add fuel stabilizer when you fill with "good quality fuel", especially if you only get gas contaminated with ethanol.
Depending on your garage floor you might want to keep the tires off bare concrete - I used brown grocery bags when I used to store my wife's Fiat Spider.
Also, consider placing grocery bags between the wipers and the windscreen to prevent sticking.
Lastly, a decent soft cover after you have cleaned the car.

If you're parking it outside or in a garage that gets opened and closed a lot during the winter, it's also not a bad idea to get some of these:

Put two or three cotton ***** in each, take a single paper hole punch (or similar) and punch a few small holes in the lid. Then put several drops of peppermint extract on the cotton ***** from an eye dropper and close the lid. Place the containers inside the car (trunk/boot, engine compartment, interior, etc). Mice and other rodents hate the smell of peppermint so it keeps them out. The bonus is when you uncover the car in the spring everything smells like fresh peppermint instead of stale interior carpet.

Thank you for the additional ideas. Too late for the fuel cleaner and Stabil but at least I filled it up with non-ethanol fuel so it won’t absorb as much moisture over the winter in the garage. Luckily, there are no critters that roam my garage…I had muskrats get into the wiring of my boat one time….what a nightmare.

I own a 2018 (2019 build year) F Type R which is stored every year from Oct to May (I live in NZ and enjoy the UK Summer) During the Covid period the car was stored for 2.5yrs with a full tank of Shell 99octane and a CTek maintenance charger connect correctly through the boot connect points. The tyres were over inflated by 8lbs.
Prior to start up I consulted many experts who suggested among other things to drain the fuel tank.
The practical experts (mechanics) said ‘start it up’ and the car will tell you if there is an issue via the ‘dashboard display’.
The car started 1st time and I ran the old tank of fuel to 1/2 full before topping up. No problems were experienced and last Summer I had 5000 miles of trouble free touring.
The tyres had only dropped 6-8lbs and as such had only required adjustment.

The car has no problem’s with 6-7months of storage in a dry garage with the car cover.
Always ensure the car is dry before storing
