It was Brendan at Midwest that I've been dealing with. I think that the issue is that 2014-2015 19" wheels won't fit on the 2016 R (but 2016 19" will). Of course, I stand to be corrected by anyone on the forum that is driving a 2016 R (or S with performance brakes) on 19" wheels. I'm trying to get 19" wheels as I understand (not being particularly knowledgable about such things) that it is better to 'downsize' wheels by an inch for winter driving.

Where did you get the Braelin's and can you give me the exact model please?

That makes no sense because they are still listing the same wheels that were available on 14-15 models on the 16 models. The brake offerings didn't change either, and I can't imagine that the specs changed on wheels that look identical on all 3 model years.

Unhingd has a 16S that came on 19" Propellers, with "super performance" brakes, which appear to be the exact same wheels that also were available on 14-15 models. "Performance brakes" are the std base model brakes, which come with 18" wheels.

Hey BWC. I just got an f-type R, 2016, steel brakes (not ceramic) in Langley, BC. The fountain tire guys tell me I need 20" rims. Seems like people on this forum have managed to get 19" wheels on, but it's not clear that it has been confirmed which year/model of 19" rim definitely fits on a 2016 R. Did you finally get it sorted out? I think there are more choices for good winter tires in 19". They may also be cheaper. Thanks for the help.

The only reason that anyone might say that is that no 19" wheels are offered as options on the R. OEM 19" wheels fit just fine over the Super Performance Brakes and come standard on the S with that brake package. This will be true for all model years.

+1 Exactly.

They look up specs somewhere, and it specifies only 20" wheels on R models. What they don't realize is that there is no difference with regard to wheel fitment between the R and other models that come w/ 19" wheels. They have the same brakes, hubs, and offsets.
