F-type gets a respectable 3rd with the usual suspects placing 1st and 2nd. Not a very good comparison. So many good cars missing. A better race would be based on MSRP, performance specs, etc. to group the cars.

It was a good turn out against a large number of B cars. No Ferrari or Lambo were present. The only real contenders in the drag race were the first three anyway, and we all knew the outcome of those 3 before it even started as the Jag has been up against both the turbo s and the GTR in the past.
Still, an 11.8 in the quarter is great, and the Porsche and Nissan got a good leap thanks to AWD. I have seen the F-Type R do an 11.6 in the 1/4 mile, so that was not the fastest out there, but 11.8 is probably a number many of us could hit at the drag strip with a little practice.

I was wondering the same thing and WTH they picked the cars that came in the last 3 places and then figured out the most likely reason. Safety. They probably did not want a bunch of cars bunched together abeam each other with no room left or right to maneuver hauling butt down a runway for the 1/4 mile run.

I don't think it's a safety issue. The cars were from the "best driver's car" competition. The competitors had to be new or significantly different for 2014/2015 and available for purchase. I think that explains no Z06 (not yet avail). As for no Ferraris and Lambos, apparently they weren't willing/able to give Motor Trend the car requested. Previous editions had plenty of high HP cars racing neck and neck. Frankly, 2014 version was disappointing with regards to some of the cars.
