I purchased a 2014 XJL recently, and need to update the NAV system, however, the nearest dealer is a three hour drive from my home, so I'm wondering if anyone has a DIY solution to update my car?. maybe a DVD or online connection?. Thanks for any help you might offer. Bearly

I also have a 2014 XJ. The navigation system is dead. The last update was way back in 2019-2020.
Uses a USB stick to update. Don't use Jaguar as they merely buy the software and then resell it. Just DIY the update.
Also be aware that since you did not put where your at that the maps are done by region. I am in the US and here is the last update from 2020.
So if you have any version earlier than that you can update to the last 2020 version. Follow the install instructions EXACTLY! It will take some time and just have patience as it will eventually finish the install.
2014 Jagaur XJ Navigation Map Update
Even then it's way behind what you have on your phone. Most people use their phone. Or you can do what I did and replace the in dash screen with an Android tablet. Now the world is wide open and you can mirror your phone or use any Android App that you want. Plus now I have a bigger screen than the factory 8" one.
Many threads on the install if your interested?
