abs pump not starting
Hey guys,
This is about my 1991 xjs v12 cc
I have a problem with the abs pump not working.
I have checked and tested all the relays, they are all working.
The fuses are good as well.
When I wire the pump directly to a battery is works.
I am getting 12v to the pump and I have added a new ground in the case that the ground was the fault.
and still the pump does not work.
Any ideas?
Also the pump stopped working months ago, then the car stayed in my garage
A few weeks ago I got in the car and started it up then hit the road and the brakes worked fine.
When I stopped to get gas and started up again I had no brakes once again.
At this point I think I should run new wires to the pump.
Thanks,
Alex

Unfortunately the pressure switch on the pump block fails and the replacement is NLA.
I have installed a switch or pump assy (I can't remember which) from a sedan and the pump will work but the low pressure warning is wired BACKWARD and the warning light will not function properly.
I think I installed a relay to swap the ON/OFF (NO/NC) state of the switch but it was years ago and I just don't remember all the details.
Look at an electrical guide for the differences and it will be clear.
A salvage part might be easier to swap if you can find one.

Thank you for your help, I've been banging my head against the wall on this one haha
I have another xjs, it is a 94 , I think the pump assy is all the same on these.
I am going to try swapping it all out, the brakes work well on the 94.
Is there any special bleeding procedure to clear the air from the abs pump?
It seems to me like I could crack the pressure line and pump the pedal to clear it out.
Is that correct?
Thanks again
