Default Alarm fix

I had the irritating problem of my alarm going off intermittently, for no apparent reason. An electrical minefield that had, fortunately, a very simple fix. I noticed that the bonnet, when closed, was ever so slightly higher on the drivers side, right at the corner nearest the windscreen. This is the same side that the microswitch sits on, at the front crossmember above the radiator. Thinking that maybe the bonnet was just barely keeping the switch closed, except maybe when a little wind might catch it, raising it just enough to trip the switch, I adjusted the spring catch, taking all of two minutes, and hey presto, no more problems. It is a simple locknut and sprung catch arrangement. Loosen the locknut and screw the catch/plunger clockwise to lower the bonnet and vice versa to raise it. Tighten the locknut and the jobs done. And it looks better of course. May be worth remembering.........
