Ask to run codes before purchasing from used car dealer
I have found a 2013 XJL 5.0L SC with a little over 37,000 miles, clean CAR FAX for what that's worth. What are your thoughts on asking to run a check at the local Jag dealer before doing the deal.
From this wonderful forum, I have acquired a huge amount of valuable information regarding items to be concerned with and very I'm very grateful.
Best,
Ray

You could but they may prove little
e.g. recently cleared (you don't even know if the monitors will set ok)
e.g. not cleared but battery has been a bit low (lots of rather meaningless codes)
No harm but not much meaningful data.
Also, if you get codes from all modules expect plenty as they are only deleted if commanded to be. (Mine has 7yr old codes, can't be bothered clearing them and nor could the shop.)
