Broken lug bolt fix

Broken lug bolt fix
Broken lug bolt fix for Jaguar F-Type and others models.
I had the misfortune of having to replace lug bolts on my 2015 Jaguar F-Type. First ting i noticed is there are no part numbers listed for replacement lugs. Why is that? Because of the design the bolt pattern is so small that the lugs cannot be removed or replaced with bearings in place. That is why you have to buy whole hub with lugs already installed from Jaguar for a lot more money, and have special tools, and labor then tack on labor cost. I found a way to replace lugs on front or back without removing hubs. Can be done using minimal tools, effort, and money. I would replace all 20 or at least all 5 on the hub being fixed If any break or get stripped in future just unscrew bad stud and replace.
Tools and parts needed:
Screw in Studs - Helicoil Kit - WINTOOLS 15 Pc Thread Repair Kit M12 X 1.5 X16.3MM Auto Car Tool Set Helical Coil F04187H, $17
Tap Block - Block of aluminum, brass, or steel 1/2" X 1" X 2"-3" drill and tap 1 hole in corner of block using helicoil kit. Important, use drill press to keep square.
Loctite Medium
C-Clamp
2) Push lug back with hammer or press if you have one till you have enough room to cut head off.
3) Cut head off lug using a small grinder with small abrasive cut off disc.
4) Pull lug through and out using nut and washers.
5) Run helicoil tap into tap block, leave enough protruding to align tap with open lug hole.
6) Use C-Clamp to clamp tap block to wheel flange. Make sure tap is aligned with hole and block is flush to flange
7) Tap hole. No drilling required because lug holes are already at tap size.
8) Install Helicoil flush to flange surface.
9) Trim excess Helicoil off back side of flange using small cut off disc again.
10) Tread stud in using some loctite.

The big tip here is to throw away the crappy stock Jaguar lug nuts with the sheet metal covers. They will fail and you could be on the side of the road with a flat tire and no way to remove the wheel!
Many threads on this and please replace them with solid metal lug nuts preferably SS.
I have had two different Jaguars a 2005 STR and my current 2014 XJR both came with the soon to fail sheet metal covered lug nuts.
