Default Can used SRS nmodules be coded to different car

I have a 2017 Jaguar xe with a faulty SRS Module, (it was water damaged)

I tried before to program a used one and it did not work

I'd just like to check with any techs there if it is possible to recode used modules (program new vin etc) using sdd or Autel etc.

If not, I'll just stump up and buy a new module, used modules are $50 , new ones are close to $500 and above

thanks in advance

What did you use in your attempt to program?
Did you try to reprogram existing as well as try reprogramming new?

I used sdd. Old modue was water damaged.

Someone on facebook said i5 can me done with obdstar pt0.

That gadget costs about $550. Trying to confirm it will work as that is about cost of new airbag module.

If it works, I'd effective get a free tool out of the deal

Has anyone used this gadget on jaguar or even other sts modules please?

JLR says that Pathfinder, not SDD is required for 2017 vehicles.
Consider purchasing a Pathfinder VCI and a couple of days of online access.
You can't program modules without access to vehicle data files, which were included with SDD V150 and earlier.
But that doesn't help you.
Online connection to JLR is required access the VDF.

Let us know how you resolve the problem.

Default Pathfinder vs sdd

Thanks for the info. This vehicle came with no keys. Was water damaged. I programmed a used keyless go module, used body control module. Used telematics module, used seat module, and used modules from the center console, video module, the drive select module tgat pops up etc

the others have all been a breeze, I'm told the switch to pathfinder was mid 2017. My car is a little earlier, which is why I think sdd works. Just trying to avoid stumping up 500 for a single module. I'd rather pay a bit over that for tge right tool. At least that way I could do more in future,

What version of SDD are you using? Where did you access the VDF?
Working on pre-2016 JLRs, VDF provided with V150 are sufficient.
V150.03 has nothing for X760.
If you have the required VDF and SDD works for you, try this:
With the original module installed, begin the reprogramming process.
Before committing (last step) substitute the new module.
This has worked on various Ford and JLR modules.

OK. Understand that you are working with a Chinese hack.
Did you download the complete JLR vehicle data files for your vehicle?

Yep, I've also coded many of the modules already including the BCM, keyless go, telematics and even 2 new keys as it came without any
