You should be fine with Vista - just make sure you keep up with the Vista updates.

I sent you a pm...

When are you getting the error and what does it say? Is it during the extraction or when you try to install? Are you running the install out of the extracted directory?

Christo, Thank you again! I finally got the program working correctly. The problem had something to do with the computer I was using. I do have a couple of questions though...First, When using the JTIS program for the '99 XJ8, I couldn't find the directions for removing the heads (change head gasket). The only thing even remotely like this is removing the timing chains and such. Using the knowledge obtained from the site about holding the cam shafts in place for servicing the chains, I think I can probably get them off but a step by step would be more helpful. Secondly, the other link you sent was for an XJ6, is there one for an XJ8? Finally, where is the best place to get the speciality tools to do the job?

Hey tjbujnak glad you were able to get it installed. The JTIS that we have only covers what it covers if you know what I mean. We were lucky to have found a copy but it is a little dated and covers the older models. But the XJ8 is not in the list of vehichles. Maybe the same motor might have been in another type? The best thing I could reccommend is to make a post in the appropriate forum this way some of the more savy members could chime in. Lots of luck and I wish I could be more help, but do let me know how you make out...

Thanks again anyway! I suspected as much! Do you know where the cheapest place may be for the specialty tools?

What in particular are you looking for? Something like a torque wrench can be obtained at your local auto parts store...
