If the manual covers the American 2003 XJR (prior to the aluminium body), I would also appreciate the link

Cheers

The original techno-phobe here is having issues. It seems to have downloaded fine as I have a 3-book icon on my desktop and it's 552 MB, and I am able to run Setup.exe fine, and the JTIS icon is there. The program opens but when I click on any of the icons (except for Help and New), the application gives the following error. JJTIS MFC Application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Windows never notified me of anything, and I'm running the dreaded Vista. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, should I have downloaded BOTH J-CD1 and J-CD2? I only downloaded the first as it was the most recent and largest.

Thanks

j./

Cool

Do you update the vista software frequently? If not you should, look at the top of the program menu for windows update and check for updates - you may need to do this a few times over the course of the day to get everything.

If you a current do you know if you are running a 64 bit version - right click on the my computer icon and left click on properties - read the screen it should say if you are either 32 bit or 64 bi there.

You only need cd1, did you install winzip and extract the files to another location? If not remove the jtis from the contol panel -> programs and features, then reboot. Then go to the location where you extracted the files and run the setup again. If the setup fails post the error here. IF not you should be good to go.

I update automatically - The only update I'm missing is Explorer 8 which I have chosen not to install. I'm running Vista Home Premium, and it is the 32 bit program - Should I have the 64 bit OS? I extracted the file using my copy of WinRAR - Should I be using Winzip instead? I haven't gone any further - awaiting further info!

Thank you again.

I like the winzip application because it will error out if there was any corruption caused by the download. Almost like it verify's it's integrity. Your system is fine, I asked because there are more and more 64 bit systems coming on the market.

I used WinZip and got the following message:

DAO needs to be installed on this machine
1. Select the file "setup.exe" from the folder \dao35\disk1 on the installation CD
2. Follow the default options by clicking on the highlighted buttons
3. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THAT THE OBDC - CHECKBOX IS DISABLED

I don't have any installation CD, I click "OK" and get the message that "Acrobat Reader is Available" and "JTIS sucessfully installed"

WinZIP tries to remove temporary files, and freezes, with a "not responding" message

When I open JTIS, first I get the message C:users\app data\local\temp\install1\data\startup.txt contains an invalid path, then it opens and looks fine. I can open "Help" (and of course it tells me that Help wont work with Vista). Clicking any other tab results in the popup for selecting the DTC books Model and Model Year, (which is blank) followed by "JJTIS MFC Application has stopped working", and the program shuts down.

I looked for C:users\app data\local\temp\install1\data\startup.txt and get a message that Windows cannot find the file.

Any suggestions? Thanks

There is a doa directory. The files you downloaded came off the cd. Looks at the extracted files (where you clicked setup). There should be a dao directory - go in there are run the setup - hopefully everything will be in the right place. If not uninstall all the files, reboot and run the dao installation first, then the regular setup. Let me know how you make out.

I couldn't find the dao directory in the WinZip file , but my son found it in WinRAR. He's working on the install, and has made some progress. I'll let you know how I make out

Cheers

I just built a new computer and will be downloading windows updates all day so your download might be a little slow - it's worth a shot though. look for the pm in a few.
