Electrical problems xjs dash pod
I have a XJS v12 coupe 1990 51000kms an import to UK from Japan. I took out the dash pod to change the Speedo (MPH) and replace the 2.2w bulbs. I replaced speedo and 5bulbs. When I put the pod back the majority of the information lights don’t work, inc. ignition,abs.etc. The Speedo doesn’t work, Rev counter does work.I have looked at everything again and can’t see anything wrong. When I started the job I forgot to dis. The battery. I wonder if that is a problem. I’ve looked at all the fuses I can find, all ok. The car runs ok.

Bearing in mind that I have not been into my xjs' cluster yet, but I have been into the xj40's, Ill put this out- When you opened the cluster to replace speedo, did you have to unplug anything to get in behind any circuitry I.E a printed circuit board? If so, maybe you should get back in and make sure all connections are making good contact? And then are you sure that upon reinstallation all plugs on back are completely seated? All grounds hooked up and tightened? Several of us have run into the problem of having One wire push back out of a given connector which is a real pita to track down without knowing its a possibility. Good luck!
