haval, first off, welcome to The Forums. Lots of good information here and even better people. We pride ourselves in being the best car group out there. But, we do ask that you stop by the New Member section and tell us a little bit about yourself. This will give you a chance for us to get to know you and you to learn who are the movers and shakers around here.
As for your question, because you are mentioning a V6, that tells me that you are looking at the diesel engine. If there is no turbo, then someone has gone through a lot of work to get rid of it. The V6 petrol/gas engine did not come out in the XJ until 2013. I could possibly see where you may miss the supercharger on that engine just because it is hidden under a piece of plastic. So, if you are correct in that the vehicle does not have a supercharger or turbo on the engine, then I would stay away from that car as someone has gone through a lot of work to modify the car and most likely will be a big headache when you need to fix it as you will have a one off vehicle and what you have, no one will know unless they take time and trace out everything.
Now, I will ask, are you sure you were not looking at the V8 petrol/gas engine. This could possibly come without a turbo or supercharger. I could see where the back 2 cylinders may be hard to see. Now, that would be a true Jaguar with no modification. I guess another way to look at things is what sort of power where they telling you the car made? Was it 235, 340, 385 or something over 385 horsepower? Knowing this number will give me the size motor that they were talking about or immediately clue me into the mess that they are trying to sell.
I am trying to be honest here and justify why I say what I am saying.
