Hey all,
As you might be able to tell from my username i have a Ford WDS and docking station. I've managed to get it mostly working. The only functions i cant seem to get working are the module programming functions. Now is this something to do with the system date not matching the software release date? Like on the ids
All of the module programming menus are there im just unable to select them.
This forum has been really helpful for me and one of the best sources on the wds i have found. Btw i am from australia and there is next to no support here

The Jaguar WDS has no time-out as far as a date is concerned. If the VIN is recognized, the system will function. You might have a corrupted software problem?? Win 98 is not known as the most stable platform.
I don't know much about the Ford WDS software but I did let someone use mine to diagnose and repair a climate control issue on an early 2000s Ford sedan.
I keep a HDD loaded with Ford version 43 in case I need it. You can swap HDDs so I would have a spare in case Win 98 crashes.
CAMBO is in Australia and he might know about Ford???

How would i know if the software was corrupted? Im yet to find a a keyboard and mouse to use with the docking station to have a real look at anything. Im looking to do the ram upgrade soon aswell. The only problem i have is it asks to do a battery recondition once its all loaded up ive done it a couple of times but comes back on each boot up. So maybe that could be a problem. I will check if it has the latest software installed i do have a lot of ford discs but not many system ones

Every software version I load and every battery pack I build always wants the battery recondition. I just hit the tick and go on as I have done for 10 years!!!! I don't care about the recondition and neither does the PTU. It all works OK.
The Keyboard and Mouse are PS2 so you should be able to plug in any old ones.
You should try an 8 GB Compact Flash Drive and CF 44 pin adapter to load a fresh version of WDS. Easier to find than an old ATA33 HDD.
The A6 Red disk is the last Ford WDS ghost disc. There are versions Blue Disc B43, B44 or B45 then you need Black C5.
These should be the last versions.

Ok so don't worry about the battery recondition then. I found a old keyboard to hook up to it aswell.
A new error has appeared that i havent seen before saying something like the system software (red cd) may not be compatible with the application software (blue cd) ensure latest software is installed.
In the system information menu it shows
Software
System A6
Release CD ()
Release Date 26 September 2006
Calibration C5
Now when i go into the control panel add/remove programs it shows WDS CD (B45) and WDS CD (B29) as both been installed is this normal? Or could it be why it doesnt show the release version in the system information screen and having some functions not work?

I was going to try and reinstall fresh software but i only have the cds the system came with so i only have A6 and B44a the only black cd i have is C1...so id need the C5 disc 1 and 2 and B43 just to be safe as that's known to work. Does anyone in Australia have these?? Or if overseas more then happy to pay for post.
