Default Fuel Line O-Rings in engine compartment

There is a garter spring connector at the end of the fuel line where it connects to the fuel rail at the left front of the engine under the top cover on a 2005 S-Type 4.2L. This connector is the male part attached to the fuel line which comes from the fuel filter. This male part has two O-rings, one red, and one blue, in the two grooves in this male part, which seal this connection to the connector socket on the fuel rail. These O-rings are not specified separately in the Jaguar parts catalog (I checked with my nearest Jaguar dealer) but apparently only come with the fuel hose assembly.
Does anyone know the dimensions of these O-rings and any other relevant specifications? I suspect that it will be an industry standard part available at very low cost.
I have not tried to remove these rings to check dimensions, but I am guessing a 1mm cross section.
This fuel hose connector needs to be removed to remove the left engine cover to service the left bank coils and spark plugs.
When I removed this connector on my car for this purpose, I observed that one of the O-rings was scuffed from abrasion during a past assembly, and I would like to be able to replace it next time I get into that area.
The attached photo shows the garter spring fuel connector in the center, with the throttle assembly on the left and the left engine cover on the right.

4.2L fuel line to fuel rail connector

I am guessing that this style of fuel connector is used on many models made by both Jaguar and Ford, so I have posted this inquiry in General Tech Help since it would be of general interest. My searches in the forums came up empty. Sometimes very specific search terms are needed to find info like this if it exists. Thanks

Dennis,

I think you are more likely to get the attention of other members with the same model by posting in S-Type forum.

If you don't get an answer here, send me a PM and I'll move the thread for you.

No help on the O-Ring size as the manufacturers don't want you to use non-factory parts. So finding that size will be on you.

I do have a fairly cheap suggestion? These are Ford Spring Lock connections and are very common. Here is a nice kit with several O-Ring and Garter Spring sizes and under $20.
Ford Spring Lock Repair Kit Ford Spring Lock Repair Kit

Just as an example I finally found the 2 O-Rings I needed for my AC system from Jaguar. With shipping and the very high price I had over $20 just in those 2 O-Rings! I never did find the size and I have tons of O-Rings too but never was happy with physically matching them up?

Do you have an O-Ring cone? They do measure O-Rings pretty well but they are still not 100% accurate.
O-Ring cone;

They also have slide gauges?

But the cheapest solution is probably that assortment of parts I listed above.

Default I found the answer to my own question

This item:
Amazon Amazon

looks like it will contain the appropriate size of replacement O-ring.
It contains selected sizes of HNBR O-rings of the type commonly used for A/C connections.
IDK why the parts counter folks at both Jaguar and Ford could not tell me that.

Yes that looks to be a variation of the same kit I posted above. Either one should give you what you need.
Now a suggestion?

Post back what size that connection is to help the next guy out?

Yes, of course. I will post the exact sizes the next time I disconnect the fitting, which will be pretty soon. TY

This fitting uses the 5/8" disconnect tool.

Hi Graham,
No, don't move this thread.
As I mentioned at the bottom of my OP, this question applies broadly across makes and models.

Hi clubairth1,
No, I don't have one of those sizing cones.
I'll stop by Parker Packing next time I'm out that way. TY for the tip.
I just use a caliper very carefully and can usually identify the correct size.

Don't think you need to measure anything if you get one of those assortments?
They are labeled and once you know if it's a #8 or #10 Ford Spring Lock connector that's all you need to get parts.

*SOLVED*
This fuel connector is a Ford Springlock #8 coupling
It uses industry standard O-ring seals AS 568A-013, 7/16" ID x 1/16 cross section, HNBR elastomer (green).
The release tool for the #8 coupling is the 5/8" size.

For future reference, the other Ford Springlock coupling O-ring sizes are:
#6, -011, 5/16" ID x 1/16"
#10, -015, 9/16" x 1/16"
#12, -017, 11/16" x 1/16"
You can get these O-rings just about anywhere, very cheaply.

Great job! I "thought" it was an #8 but could not remember.

It's satisfying to fix something for cheap once you have all the information!

Maybe Graham can add SOLVED to the thread title?
