I have the FORD and Jaguar discs. I can send them in the mail but I need to know what you need. Ford?? Jaguar???
The latest version for the U.S. is.....
Ford A6, B43, C5 disc 1 and disc 2
Jaguar CD2, 42a, 43
I can send the software on 1 DVD in folders to split up and burn onto the CDs or the individual CDs the way the WDS needs them to install.
I got 2 more CDs from a guy in Romania? and they are claimed to be FORD CD B44 and B45 but we don't have some of the European cars here to see if the software works.
I have not tried the B44 and B45 on my Ford WDS.
Someone might have a way to upload the CDs to a large file server but I just make copies and mail them!!!!!
Keep in touch ZIZIP and let us know how you are coming along.

Hi all,
I have 2 WDS that I'm trying to revive. Have never worked on these and the mechanic I got them from couldn't explain everything. I work in IT so I'm good with the computer/battery/docking station/ghosting/etc.
I have the A06 media, and various Bxx and Cxx.
The system boots and will ghost from A06, tells me to eject the disk and restart. After the restart, it will prompt me to calibrate the screen, get passed that, and then am asked for a 'blue disc' Regardless of which Bxx disc I put it, it does nothing. Can't tell if the system is locked up, not liking the media, or what?
Suggestions?

I had a faulty battery pack and just carefully cut it apart and ordered new cells. I soldered the new cells and circuit board EXACTLY as the original and installed it.
It works fine and as long as the board is OK the cells can be replaced.
The original cells are a certain size but you can use a slightly smaller size to fit. The battery run time will be shorter but they are next to useless anyway. The battery is only good to run from the docking station to the car and back again anyway. I got about 10 minutes of battery time from a fresh charge. The GENRAD claim was a MAX time of 20 minutes.

I had some lockup issues when I first got my machine. I ended up unplugging the unit from the wall for a few minutes and then disabled the virus scan software. so far, I haven't had any lockup issues.
I purchased a complete new battery assy (w/ board) new from Accutronics: Teradyne 9.6V 4000mAh NiMH for WDS Diagnostic Computer | Accutronics

I have samo PS problem, but old 250W PS is allready thrown away.
Usually P8 is
1. Ground
2. Ground
3. Ground
4. +3.3V
5. +3.3V
6. +5V
Does this reversed polarity mean
1. +5V
2. +3.3V
3. +3.3V
4. Ground
5. Ground
6. Ground
?
Anyway without P8 connected docking station is working, exept it does not charge PTU battery.

I had a docking station with a bad power supply. The power transistors in one of the channels have a tendancy to fry. The PS was originally produced by a company in the UK called Power Solve. The PS is a GR250-ATX. I contacted them for a replacement, but they couldn't help.
I found a suitable ATX replacement with more wattage (250W to 300W), which is a good thing. The replacement ATX has one P8 connector with reversed polarity which is easy to convert. .

Okay I know I'm way late to the party here, but It seems pretty easy to get your hands on a reasonably priced ford WDS, in the USA at least.
What would I need to make it a Jaguar WDS?
I'm at the point where I'm selling and dealing with enough jags to where this would be a good investment for me, I think.
Take care,
George

Φίλε Γιώργο γειά σου,
you will only need the CD/CDs with the ghost image for Jags. Installing them will overwrite the current Ford installation. You could also try a multi-boot installation allowing you to boot either Ford or Jag image - but you will have to buy a larger hard disk for it.
If you need something easier though, I would recommend a simple "Made in China" OBD2 scanner that will read the fault codes without the hassle of a small computer hanging around. -Provided of course that the models you work with, have such an interface. (Usually models after 2001 have it)

Sorry to kick this old topic, but this is the only place where I can find a reference to WDS software.
Is there anyone to help my out with it?
I just bought an old GenRad device and missing some software.
The ghost cd's and I am looking for the Jaguar software, only have the Ford ones.
Thanks in advance!
You can send me a message at rob at lindoboom dot nl

I can mail CDs to Europe but XJRGUY might be able to find a way to send them as a large file download.
The Jaguar latest version is a 3 disc set.
CD2 is the GHOST disc that is installed first.
CD 42a is the next disc and then...
CD 43 is installed last.
A Hard Disc Drive ATA33 that has a capacity of 4 GB or more would be better.
The older machines had smaller HDDs of 3.2 or less and have a problem holding all the info plus the LOG files that are added to memory of past sessions.

The twenty pin mother board connector is fully populated on the new PS and the original only uses 16 pin, but it too is plug/play. The only other connectors used are two simple +12v GND +5V power supplies to the drives and they are identical. The only feature lost on the new PS is the aux. 110VAC accessory plug.
So, if the PS is bad, I've been down that road already and have a replacement source.
BTW - I both need some WDS stuff and have some accessories for sale or trade. I need some Jaguar SW, I have some extra cables such as the OBD cable.

I had two docking power supplies that were dead and one had smoke ! . I got a pc power supply but this dose not charge the PTU battery because the pc plug gives 3.3volts and the power solve one gives 16 volts @ 6.5 amps to charge battery. When you use a pc power supply you will notice that the indicator led for the 16 volts will be very dim due to the 3.3Volts from PAC psu .
I made a few phone calls and emails for a circuit diagram of the power solve power supply and the only company that had one would not supply a circuit. I was told for about £110 plus tax they can supply me with a rebuilt psu of the same type. I was not happy with that price as I have worked with repairing electronics for over 36 years and so ordered all the parts , transistors etc and replaced them. I then powered the psu up and set up the voltages and works perfect and have now repaired three of these power supplies. What a rip off of the rebuilt psu when you can buy a new power supply for a pc very cheap . Another option is to replace the psu with a pc type and another psu for a fixed 16 volt supply will work ok . The second power supply may be found from a laptop psu but check the current and 16 volt are ok. I do not know the current the battery charge takes but think a 4 amps would be ok. The best option is to rebuild your own power solve psu.

I have tried 2 different pc-66 ram sodimm memory cards in my genrad 3500 to speed up the system. Unfortunately the tablet doesn't start up with either one of these cards. The screen doesn't light up.As soon as I have removed them the computer acts normal again. Do I have to change the BIOS settings? Any advice will be appreciated.
