I purchased a 2012 jaguar XF in excellent condition. Back in December 2022 with only 57,000 miles on it. Five months later I got a flash on the computer for low power because I guess the engine goes to low power to protect the rest of the engine. That’s what I heard. When something is wrong so I pulled it over and I shut it off waited five minutes and I just restarted it and then it was fine. The light went off and it was OK. About a week later It did the same thing. I pulled it over again and waited and started it up and it was fine. I noticed I was a little low on coolant never overheated. It just said I was a little low so I put it in in about a week later I got the flash that it was a little low on coolant again, so I put some more in then it was fine I looked around the engine I thought maybe one of the hoses leaked a little or anything I couldn’t see anything which is hard to see because the engine so compacted under the hood you do better with a lift. two weeks later my friend said when I shut it off, he seen a little puff of white smoke and he said sometimes that happens with the head gaskets blown but the car never overheated at all never ran hot so I didn’t drive it. I had a flat bedded to my house in Clinton. I took it to a place to have it checked and the guy told me that it was a head gasket. He said he ran some tests or something so I had a flatbed it back to my house and that’s the end of that. I’m not a mechanic I have some common sense when it comes to Cars. I was going to try to have it fixed. I couldn’t even get anybody to work on it. They didn’t know what to do or they were booked up things like that and a couple places like the Jaguar dealer in North Haven Connecticut. I called told me to fix the head gasket was $15,000. I said this guy must be drunk and I know it only cost about 4000 or 3500 so it sits in my driveway. any suggestions I’d appreciate it. I love that car I usually have Cadillacs or Mercedes and I love that car better than a lamb I’m on Social Security disability and I don’t have a lot of money and I was trying to look around. Maybe somebody would buy it in that condition for cheaper maybe a mechanic or somebody and they could fix it themselves at the end have a beautiful car with only 63,223 miles on it, I just registered on this form as I’m sending this down. If anybody has a suggestion maybe visit the head gasket I don’t know but you know how I check it to make sure myself or anybody would be interested in buying it for cheaper than what I paid of course you can email me at *ADDRESS REMOVED*
