Default Help! Accidentally went online with JLR SDD - how to get back?

Hi all,

After having not used JLR SDD for awhile, I powered it up. I forgot to ensure that my laptop was set to off-line. Daft mistake, I know, and now the software load is fine but when I plug in my mongoose pro to my Jaguar XJ, it will not read any data into the software. All operates as it should, but Auto VIN does not work and I cannot read CCF or conduct any other work as there is no response from any of the Car modules through the cable.

My first question is, for anyone else who has put themselves in a similar position, is this how the software operates? I did wonder whether there might just be a physical issue with my cable, but the laptop says it is installed and operating fine, and I have reloaded the drivers to make sure there was no driver corruption. There is no red banner or other indication that the software is blocked locked or not working. It just will not read data from the car.
my second question is, if I have locked the SDD software by going online, is there a way to get back from this? I have read on forums about rewriting, replacing or copying a file into several locations. However, all comments don’t make it clear whether this is only for initial installation or is a fix if the software has become locked.

Buying a new set of software and installing it is pricey, so it would be great if I could just reenable what is on this laptop. Any advice from the forum members would be appreciated?

You have already set the date back so not sure there is much you can do?
I have had to wipe and re-install SDD several times and you may have to do that?

If I need to reinstall V144.08 v345, where do I get hold of the installation package online? I bought my laptop with the software preinstalled on it so I don’t have a copy to use (unless there is a method to utilise what is already on the device to do that). I would appreciate any advice; it sounds like you’ve done this before, clubairth1?

Up to you but I really like what our UK friends did and here are some pre made disc images which is about the easiest way to quickly re-install SDD. Yes and I had to do that more than once! This is ONLY my method and as always with SDD there are multiple ways to do it. I wipe the HD clean and disc image SDD on to it. This is one of the main reasons I use a dedicated laptop with pretty much only SDD on it. So I only lose SDD and hopefully not much else!

I am at risk now because I paid for data logging software from VAP and installed it on the same laptop. If SDD goes off the rails again I will lose this software but can re-load it.

They have several versions too.
See if any of the version offered will work for you?
SDD Image Files

One other tip is to search both forums for SDD stuff. There is a ton.

With your being a preloaded system I have no experience with that or how it was setup. I did everything from scratch which probably was not a great way to do it. If you don't use a disc image SDD takes hours and hours to install from the original files. I also have those. I am currently running V161.00 v.347 which is an updated version since I started with V160.xxx

Before wiping and reinstalling (including windows!), try re-running whatever credentials that you have.
Shut down and try again. several times.
Works sometimes.

When you get it sorted, consider making a back-up drive.
