Hubby has a jaguar x type 09
we’ve just spent a small fortune having work done to it and hubby is very happy BUT he needs a PIN number to get into the radio etc
unfortunately we haven’t got a PIN number
hubby managed to get the screen up and found a PIN number online to try which didn’t work but now when he goes on to the same screen it says please wait and he can’t put any numbers in
we’ve tried pressing the rewind button and two other buttons ( can’t remember what they’re called ) he’s tried disconnecting the battery to try and reset everything but nothing works
any ideas ?

I see you are in England so the X-Type will be fitted with a coded radio. The code is specific to that radio and will be a number between 0001 and 9999.

If the code is not properly entered after 3 attempts the radio will not accept any entry and display 'WAIT' until it has been left 'ON' for one hour. After one hour in the 'ON' position the radio will accept three further entries. Sequential number entry commencing 0001 could take up to 2 weeks to hit the correct number!

Jaguar Dealers used to be able to lookup the security code from the VIN but much of the early data is no longer available to them. Some UK members have contacted Jaguar CRC (Customer Relations Centre) in Coventry to request the code for their vehicle.
