Cool Jag radio code

Hey took my Jag out of storage the other day. I had taken out the battery for the winter and of course the anti-theft on the radio now wants the code that I don't have. Any ideas other than calling the dealer to try and get it???

Dale,

It's rare to have a coded radio outside the UK so you are really unlucky.

A call to your local Jaguar Dealer with proof of ownership usually gets the required 4 digit code free of charge.

The code for an S-Type radio is to simultaneously press the 2 & 6 preset buttons. Give that a shot as I doubt they had wildly different radios across the line in the same year.

You might also try pressing 'eject' and 'pty' at the same time

I did this & an alpha-numeric did come up. Is the alpha-numeric code that came up supposed to be the serial number of the radio, or the actual radio code?

Local Jaguar dealer (who sells more BMW's than Jaguars or Land Rovers anyway), is fixing on getting some sour reviews across the web as I've been going in circles with them for WEEKS now. WILL NOT HELP ME FOR ANYTHING.

I'm 99.9% sure it's the code and not the SN.

Jaguar Radio Security Codes are 4-Numeric:

Very rare to find a secured radio fitted in a non-UK spec vehicle but it does sometimes happen. Such vehicles are originally supplied with two code cards (the size of credit cards) with the 4-Numeric Security Code Number and the Radio Serial Number.

It's even rarer to find the code cards with a used Jaguar!

But, what is this mystery code that does come up when 2 & 6 are pressed together?
