Are Jaguar also using these recent model Land/Range Rover locking wheelnuts?
Hi Everyone!
I recently acquired a master set of locking wheel nut keys purported to be Jaguar.
Research indicates they are Land/Range Rover, fitted to recent models of the Evoque, Discovery Sport LR550 and Velar models.
Since Jaguar and Land/Range Rover shared design of previous locking wheelnuts (the slotted design of the 1990s, the domed type from 2002 approx., and more recently McGard) although the jaguar nuts were smaller, I wondered if those pictured attached had appeared on any Jaguars?
These lockers are fitted to Range Rover Evoque, Velar and Land Rover Discovery Sport L550. Jaguar E pace to the list and it is complete.
Most models are from 2017 on. My mechanic looked it up for me on his service tools register today.
Apparently the keys have to be specially cut if lost, a service which takes about four weeks and costs Ł60.
Think that makes my master set quite useful and valuable.
All your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
I would and do throw away any locking lug nut. They will be trouble in the future and I am just not worried about someone stealing my wheels.
Also are you aware of the crappy sheet metal covered lug nuts that come stock?
I also throw all of those away and purchase solid stainless steel lug nuts. Those sheet metal covers can and will bite you in the future.
Dump them now!
