I am fortunate that the original manual for my '88 XJ-S came with my car, it shows every thing down to the tiniest nut and bolt with pencils type drawing on how to repair the car. And I bought another book that is a parts book for the XJ-S

As already stared, this thread is about purchasing genuine Drivers' Handbooks from Jaguar's printers. It is NOT for questions about the contents or technical questions and, more importantly, has absolutely nothing to do with Workshop Manuals or Parts Catalogues.

Smile Digital Jaguar 2000 XK8 Specifications

I am not sure I am doing this right>

What I need is a digital version that I can print out on my own printer or store on my computer. Example is that right now I am struggling with the right weight of engine oil and the right type of antifreeze. Other things come up like spark plug types, shocks etc.

How do I go about requesting this general type of data for my 2000 Jaguar XK8.

Antifreeze detail may well not be in the handbook. Spark plug kind will not be, but will be on parts sites e.g. forum/site sponsors (engine oil details are probably also there).

Much is in the workshop / other tech stuff but not the handbook.

The specifications on antifreeze, oil and spark plugs are in the Vehicle Care Handbook. Here's the rlevant pages:

The Jaguar document reference is JJM 18 16 14/00 - 2000 XK8 Vehicle Care Handbook.

Thanks h20boy.

The car details are: 2000 Jag XK8. The car has 71,000 miles on it. It is a convertible. There are no special modifications. Also, it is normally aspirated.

I am assuming that the oil that is a must is Mobel 1 synthetic. Or can Castrol be used?

Castrol is fine (so long as it meets the spec) and Jaguar even have a relationship with them.

I've corrected the document reference in my post #25.

I'd wrongly given the XJ reference instead of the XK8 reference. It should have read JJM 18 16 14/00 - 1999 XK8 Vehicle Care Handbook. This is available for download in this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...006-faq-67827/

This document was not superseded until 2001.
