Excellent! Thanks Doug! Because the post is so long, the forum programming won't let me edit it, so I have to delete the thread and repost it. I've already added Bosal Group (Netherlands-based) to my list, but I'll wait a few days to see if we collect some additional OEMs or corrections, then repost the revised list.
Cheers,
Don

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for your kind words. I'd be happy to send you both lists in Word format if you'll send me your email address via PM and put LISTS in the subject heading.
Graham is working on a formatting idea to make the lists easier to access and read in the forum, and also I've received a few additions from other members, so you may want to wait a week or two to see how many additional terms or OEMs we may collect.
Cheers,
Don

The parts catalogue doesn't list the ports with a separate part number - (which seems rather odd as the ports simply screw into the lines and seal with an o-ring).

The ports are (were) available as individual Aeroquip items, however Jaguar only sold the complete hose assemblies.

Based on a little research, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Aeroquip probably made the entire hose assemblies. Here's a line from a website for Trinova, a firm of which Aeroquip was one component:
"Aeroquip has made a big business out of fluid-conveying-system parts; it manufactures such things as flexible hose, V-band couplings, refrigeration components, and fittings and assemblies."
And from the press release at the link below announcing a Ford-Aeroquip pact for power steering fluid hoses, this telling statement: "The firm also makes air conditioning hose systems for passenger vehicles."
http://www.rubbernews.com/article/19...s-annual-sales
I'm going to add Aeroquip as an OEM of Jaguar A/C refrigerant hoses until someone can tell me differently. I won't be surprised if we learn they also made power steering hoses for Jaguar.
Thanks Larry!

Hi Don
I noticed that Eurospare is not in the list of OEM manufacturers. Unless I am reading false info. they have been making parts for Jaguar for a long time.
Hotbray | eurospare
The eurospare speed sensor was $76 plus shipping at CARID and I have since found it cheaper. Compare to average of about $200 for most suppliers.
Let me know if anyone has any negatives about this company.
Thanks

That's a great question!
An Original Equipment Manufacturer is one who makes parts or assemblies used in the original assembly of vehicles at the Jaguar factory. So far as I have been able to determine, no part manufactured by eurospare was ever used to build brand-new Jaguar vehicles. The same appears to be true of ÜRO Parts, whose claims of OEM status with Jaguar appear to be equally dubious. Both companies try to create the impression that they are Jaguar OEMs, but careful reading of their claims reveals that they are actually aftermarket manufacturers from whom Jaguar now purchases some parts that have been discontinued by the OEMs.
For example, here's the wording from eurospare's website:
"The eurospare brand covers all aftermarket and quality OEM wholesale spare parts available to us. Originally designed to complement our genuine Land Rover and Jaguar accounts, this business has now developed into a global sourcing programme for our customers."
And here's the wording from the ÜRO Parts website:
"Unlike many of the larger OE manufacturers, A.P.A. has the ability to produce smaller production runs suitable for European automakers that don't sell enough vehicles to justify the cost of sourcing components from larger OEM's. Large OEM's often refuse to dedicate a production line for the quantity needed, or will only do so at an untenable price. A.P.A. has helped several car manufacturers reintroduce parts that were discontinued by the previous OEM supplier, ultimately helping loyal owners keep their vehicles on the road. A.P.A.'s OEM division currently supplies products to Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Saab and Mitsubishi, and is currently holding discussions with Porsche."
Both companies appear to be supplying newly-manufactured versions of parts discontinued by the OEMs so Jaguar dealerships can continue to meet the aftermarket need, but that doesn't make eurospare or ÜRO Parts a true Original Equipment Manufacturer, so I have included neither in my list.
Thanks again for the great question!
Cheers,
Don

Many years ago I managed an automobile safety glass manufacturing plant. The products had to comply with BSI (British standards), ASA (American standards) and DIN (German standards) simply to be allowed on sale. That was only the start!
In addition, we were independently certified as "OEM approved" by a number of vehicle manufacturers. This didn't necessarily result in orders but was a requirement to be fulfilled before we could even bid for their business.
I'm always interested to look at the source labelling on Jaguar parts. The World has changed a lot since I was in manufacturing and it is a truly global market now. Frequently the product isn't even packaged in the country of manufacture. The most ruthless competition in the Jaguar supply chain appears to be with filters. The UK manufacturers first lost out to Germany which in turn lost out to Eastern Europe. I'm expecting the next one I buy to originate in the Far East.
