JLR Mongoosers Now $75 shipped, no tax
UPDATE: For a limited time, use coupon code NEW2013 to get an additional 6% off the $80 price. Note, the mongooser comes from UOBD2.com in China, which is celebrating Chinese New Year from 2/5 to 2/16. Most likely, the order will not be processed until 2/18. And yes, the paypal will be transacted immediately regardless when you place the order.
For those on tighter budgets, the mongooser is available from UOBD2.com for $80 shipped. This tool enables you to perform previously dealer-only programming and diagnostic tasks on your Jag or Rover.
Mongoose JLR - Jaguar & Land Rover Dealer Level Diagnostics & Programming
I have ordered from this company twice. They seem to do a good job and keep you posted. Shipping time will be about 2 weeks as the product goes from Shenzhen China, to Singapore, to the US. For my orders, the most time was spent in customs in Los Angeles. You can track the shipment using both the Singaporean and USPS online trackers.
UOBD2.com does include the JLR v130 software, but unfortunately, their master files are corrupted. You can download the JLR v131 from www.diagnosticdelivery.com/IDScentral. Remember, don't upgrade to update .4, update only as far as .1
You will also need to dedicate a laptop with a dual core processor and win xp or win 7 32-bit.
After using a mongooser, you will never want an OBD2 scan tool again.
I might just order another one, just for the heck of it.
UPDATE: www.diagnosticdelivery.com is now available at this time, however, v131 is no longer available. Do not download v132. You can get the JLR v128 to JLR v131 software with passwords off of eBay.

Thinking about ordering, just wondering if you had recieved your order ok...
Are there any stateside shippers of this product, I am concerned about long distance purchase.
Thanks

No problem with the orders I have made with this company. The goods do sit in customs in Los Angeles for about 5 days, so that is a little frustrating.
I understand your want to buy from stateside, but do realize it will cost more, possibly a lot more. The real Mongoose is available from several vendors or Drew Technologies themselves. I think they are about $550. Pricey, but you will be getting the real deal. with real upgrades and real support.
uobd2.com does respond to emails, but they are just a merchant and can do little more than exchange defective units or included software. They are not the makers of the mongoosers, so they really can't answer too many questions. Though they did seem to try to work with me when I had a couple of questions.

You'll have more of a problem with delays while your package languishes in customs and at the post office as their staff goofs off for the holidays than you will getting it actually shipped by the vendor. Over two thirds of the total shipping time is going to be after the package has arrived at customs.

Hey Guys,
Teh software that came with my Mongoose was also corrupt , after hours of searching I found a link to V131 software (below) The software is good with no nasties !
I have also heard that there can be problems with V132 so I would say that it's at your own peril.
Hope this helps some of you.

I would recommend that you try to find JLR V130 or V129 or V128, because V131 has a nasty habit of wanting to update itself, and if you allow that to happen, it then requires near constant connection with the Jaguar servers and a different username and password. I did my best to prevent my installation of V131 from getting on to the internet and downloading the update, but it somehow did.
Out of frustration, I removed all of the software completely, and reinstalled V130. So far so good.
When you install the software, install in this sequence.
Disable all connections to the internet.
SDD_blahblahblah_full.exe (takes a long time)
Reboot. If a connection to the internet is requested, deny it. Always.
VDF_blahblahblah.exe (also takes a long time)
Reboot.
SPA_blahblahblah.exe (takes a very, very long time)
Reboot.
SDD_blahblahblah.01.exe
Reboot.

There is a very good installation video on you tube , well theres lots and lots to be fair. My installation came with written instructions and the video on the DVD. Its a BIG file , almost 8Gig so you need hard drive space !
