Default JLR SDD install problems

Not sure if this is the correct location for it, but here goes.

I've spent the better part of the day trying to get JLR SDD V139 functioning!

The first install it wouldn't even open, so I uninstalled, deleted it, then re-installed. My patch was no good, so I manually added the mongoose JLR pro to the .ini, which got the cable recognized. Now, It connects, reads battery state, retrieves the vin, but fails during "Identifying Vehicle". It doesn't so much as fail as it sits there and doesn't do anything (although the spinning status icon does continue to spin). This is on a win7 x86 partition.

I am now installing the program AGAIN, this time on a windows xp virtual machine (workstation 11), but I figured posting here would be a good way to hedge my bets.

Anyone run into this?

Thanks in advance.

Installed in the virtual environment, now it ID's the vehicle, but when I select the year, I get a system error.

System Error
An unrecoverable system error has occurred and been logged. If this condition persists, please report it to your support centre

Presumably another bad install. Does anyone have a semi fast downloading link for known working software? My truck is completely disabled until I figure this out.

I will send you a PM.

If you need to talk to a 2007 Range Rover, there is no need for V139, an earlier version prior to V130 will be ok.

I'm moving this post to the General Tech section.

In my opinion the install is OK.
Your solution is the problem. [program enabling files]

The PDF file outlines the installation, that is included with every version of SDD. I suggest to follow it, starting with the Panasonic Script setup .

Index of /265935/idscentral

One more suggestion, saves a lot of times.

Complete a Win 7_32 setup, UAC disabled, Java 6-26, and install SDD front to back, without opening it, or without applying any solution [medicine].

Now, take a full image of this HD or SSD, and then reimage this to a different empty drive, validating your installation and image.

If at any time something doesn't work with the solution, you are only 10 minutes away from a new image, and apply another solution or tweak.
I'm saying 10 minutes because SSDs unlike HDs work a lot speedier, and that's all it takes.

Last note: I found SDD being somewhat allergic to Virtual Machine type environments !!!

Maybe this will help, and will lower your going bald coefficient a little.

Thanks a lot guys. I had a brand new Samsung laptop sitting in my drawer for a few months, I just installed win7x86 on that, then Version 125, and no problems whatsoever

Appreciate the interest!
