JTIS Installation on 64-bit Win 8 PC
JTIS Installation on 64-bit Win 8 PC
JTIS has run perfectly on my old Gateway with Win XP. But when I tried to install JTIS from a CD onto my newer 64-bit Win 8.1 Dell, I got the message "DAO 3.5 Needs to be installed". I attempted to set up DAO 3.5 as per the CD instructions but got an error message from Windows that "This App can’t run on your PC". JTIS could be started normally, but when I tried to open anything, I received an error message and the application closed. Below is how I solved the problem:
Copy JTIS to PC (allows running without having the CD inserted in drive):
create new directory file C:\Program Files (x86)\Jaguar JTIS
copy JTIS disk contents to C:\Program Files (x86)\Jaguar JTIS\
Create a Restoration Point (in case something goes wrong):
hover over the start Windows icon lower left corner and right click mouse
click on [System][System Protection][Create]
enter a name such as “before JTIS intall” [Create]
display “The restore point was created successfully.” [Close][OK][X]
Download DAO350.dll:
create new directory file C:\DAO
go to dao350.dll free download - DLL-files.com
at bottom of far right section titled “Manual Fix” click on [Download ZIP-File]
click on [32 bit 3.5.1608 0][Download]]Save][Save as] “C:\DAO\dao350.zip” [Save]
go to C:\DAO\dao350.zip right click [Extract All..][Extract]
copy dao350.dll toC:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao350.dll
Register DAO350.dll:
hover over the start Windows icon lower left corner and right click mouse
select [Command Prompt (admin)]
at prompt type “C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao350.dll" [Enter]
display “DllRegisterServer in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao350.dll sccceeded.” [OK]
close Administrator: Command Prompt [X]
Install JTIS:
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Jaguar JTIS\
click on [setup.exe]
restart computer
JTIS ran perfectly … except that the Help function did not. I attempted the following additional step, but it failed. However, I do not recall ever needing JTIS’s Help before, so I am not worried about it.
Download MS Help software update –x64 (32 Bit for 64 Bit OS – Windows 6.1 (701.34 kb) (to run JTIS Help):

Error Message: 0x80096002 "the certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found"
