JTIS/JEPC : changing default directories
#1

Some people prefer to explicitly control where software is installed on their hard drives. The completely borked and clueless distribution packaging of both JTIS and JEPC presume that your hard drive is a place for the developers to indiscriminately sprinkle files on your drive at will. The manual fixes detailed below let the user remedy the situation, albeit after the fact.
The fixes are as follows:
JEPC
- copy JEPC to the directory tree of your choice
- execute setup.exe
- locate constants.js
- edit the variable "rootFolder" to point to the new location of the "Files" directory using the original value as a template
- create a menu shortcut linked to "JEPCLogin.html"
JTIS
- copy JTIS to the directory tree of your choice
- execute setup.exe
- move the c:\jaguar subdirectory to the location of your choice
- locate jjtis.ini in the windows directory
- edit the "path" key in the database section to point at the location of jagdb.mde using the original value as a template
- edit the menu shortcut to reflect the new location of jjtis.exe
This information is provided as-is and use is at your own risk. The information is written for advanced windows users.
