The JTIS seems very hit & miss, I see a lot of folk having trouble, but mine is working fine on Windows 7 Pro, without using any compatibility mode or virtual PC mode.

So, does it install and not work, or not even install?

Do you have UAC turned on still? If so you must install as administrator.
Try using XP compatibility mode on the setup file.

The newest version available (purchased recently from eBay) works fine on my Vista machine - the download referenced here won't - it only worked on my XP machines.

The new version, however, will not work on my win 7 64bit system... won't load the extra DAO file that's necessary - say's wrong version.

What is UAC? It is not the end of the world as the program is extremely difficult to use and of marginal utility.

I installs but when you run it, it quotes some kind of compatibility problem and shuts down.

UAC = User Account Control, that annoying popup that appears every time you try to run anything.

I'm running 32bit version, so maybe that has some impact.

DAO - I just got the latest version, I manually uninstalled my old version first, but suspect it didn't touch the old DAO setup as my new install didn't install or ask for DAO. Also don't some burner software packages install their own version of DAO, dunno if it's the same thing, but perhaps there's some clash occurring.

MK - Screen capture and post the error message, let's see if we can work out what's causing your problem.

If your W7 version is 64 bit and your JTIS is 32 bit then you are going to have a problem.

There is a feature called WOW64 (Windows over Windows) that may help you to run 32 bit apps over your 64 bit system.

I'll throw in the MS link here but am not sure that this will help you, right out of the box as it were.

At the moment I am trying to get another 32 bit app to run on a 64 bit system.

If I succeed I will let you know.

The WOW link.

The Windows XP mode (Virtual PC) is as far as I know a 32 bit version (also on the 64 bit version), so the jtis should work under this mode.

In my opinion, Virtual PC is way to slow compare with VMware. Any virtual mode does require a comparable hardware/CPU as post on www.intel site and bios that your pc get or can be upgrade / modified. Why not try a compatible mode that Vista and wins 7 already built-in. As if I remember correctly, you can run 32 bits program on 64 bits hardware/ operating system but not 64 bits program on 32 bits hardware or operating system. Before I bought a copy of wins 7 professional, I was thinking about 64 via 32 bits OS. Given the 64 bits OS is difficult to get all the driver and old programs to work with. That's the reason I get wins 7 professional 32 bits instead of 64 bits since price is the same.
