Jump start and L reg XJ6

Hi, I've bought a XJ6 Auto L reg to do a charity rally round Europe. 5 countries in 3 days. I bought the car 3 months ago with a full MOT and drove it home from Essex to near Dover. It's been sat since then, the battery went flat after it sitting still for just one week.
I've realised the battery is in the boot when I went to jump start it. The battery is so dead that the central locking don't work. I've tried using the key to unlock it manually but it doesn't work either.
Two questions:
The key does not turn, should I have another key that open the lock, although the key ive got does open the drivers door?
How do I get access to the battery to jump it.
Thank you,
Ash. (novice mechanic at best)

There are a couple "+" posts in the engine bay so you can attach a battery charger (or even jumper cables) to open the boot.
On both left and right inner fenders/wings you'll see a fuse box. Each has a battary post under a rubber cap.
After getting the boot open lubricate and exercise the key/manual lock mechanism so it'll work. They just get sticky from lack of use.
This might help

Beware, though, there the firewall/bulkhead also has a ground/earth post (er....I think it does...somewhere....I need a bit more coffee yet) You wouldn't want to get polarity confused.
Cheers
