Knee pad cosmetics
Vehicle is 2007 X-type with charcoal interior.
Recently discovered that the driver side knee air bag cover is discolored, due, I presume, to my leg rubbing up against it. I thought the cover was leather and applied some leather dye, but it did not cover the blemish. Now realize it is probably a plastic of some sort. I would appreciate suggestions as to how to best repair the blemish. Photo attached. The darker color on the left is where I applied the dye. The lighter color to the right is original.
Thank you.

There's very little leather in any recent Jaguar. Much of the interior is made to look like leather but is synthetic.
Do a search on Vinyl Dye. Several products available in aerosols (rattle can) intended specifically for refinishing or even recolouring vehicle seats and trim. Careful preparation is essential and all traces of dirt, silicone products, protectants, oil or grease must be removed before application.
