Default Lacquer Problem

Greetings from sunny Scotland!

I recently acquired my 2002 XJ8 and it is without doubt the greatest achievement of mankind. Smooth, beautiful, sleek and powerful. To say it's perfect would be an understatement and not strictly true (all at once).

I noticed a wee flake of the protective lacquer over the paint peeling off and since taking it to be jet washed it has become worse... Yes, I know.

Is there a product I can apply to remedy this or is it a matter of getting a new coat of lacquer applied to the car? If so, how much would that cost and would anybody be able to recommend a place to do it (and a good divorce lawyer, if it costs more than £500)

Many thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center to General Tech Help. The Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center is for posts about the forum and not for technical questions.

A photo of the clearcoat damage would help to get better advice from those with knowledge and experience of paint rectification.

For advice on suitable paint shops, you will have to give a more specific location than 'Scotland'.

Graham
